It is amazing that Toyota will replace a frame for rust issues, but an insurance company won't pay to have one replaced. (I know, I know... more than that was damaged... but still)

After that crash, I didn’t want it back.

I have three vehicles with salvage titles. All things considered... I would buy them again considering what I paid and the value they have. The ones I regret most are the brand new ones.

With prices on the rise, I'd buy the truck and sell the front bumper for scrap to turn a profit.

I used to wheel back home with a guy wi the one of these and anytime he went through a rutted out mud hole he’d come up out of the water with a huge fucking chunk of mud stuck to the front of it. It was hilarious.

It's hard to watch all your efforts roll away on a flatbed.
@BortisYeltzen hope it works out for you in the long run. Glad you were able to at least pull some parts off before insurance took it

It definitely depends on the insurance policy.

Thanks. I got out of it healthy and got a payout I felt was fair. Crappy part is now is a terrible time to try to replace it so I’m just going to save $ until 2023 or so for a new Tundra or whatever looks nice in a few years. Need a truck for the family adventure wagon. Just can’t fit everything I need for a week long camping/biking trip with 4 people in a 4Runner. Will make due until then.

    @BortisYeltzen

How about a small utility trailer? They are pretty inexpensive and easy to tow.

Ive got a badass little trailer that would solve that issue.

Fridge, heat and ac, queen sized mattress, 3k watt generator, 270 degree awning, and a 2” receiver for a bike rack. Weighed right at 2k loaded down for a 3 week trip with a queen sized pillow top mattress in it.

Haha! Thanks, I’ve checked it out in your ads and posts here. It looks sick, but I’m in a holding pattern for a bit on big spending. Gotta mildly mod the Runner first. Once suspension has reasonable lead times the runner needs a lift and some armor.

I was trying to get to Cathedral Valley today, but some of the road was on the north and northeast face and so muddy that we thought better of it. But it was a great drive anyway.

Looking east across Capitol Reef toward Moab...

Hey All long bed double cab 3rd gen owners!

I have a set of like new (only 6 months old) avid off-road frame bolt on rock sliders for sale! They were build at a 7* angle which is nearly a perfect combo of ground clearance but still functions well as a step. If you were to order these from Avid they would be $1,010 tyd!

I’m going to post them for sale here first before going to the classifieds on TW and KSL.

Asking $700. I’ve gotten some mud on the sliders, that I washed off but never contacted the sliders with anything. Will come with all the hardware needed

Selling because I trading my Tacoma in and don’t have a use for these.
