Haha..some solace in knowing that it cost this fool some headaches.

When dealing with assholes like that (much as I'm not a believer in general), time to lay down charges. Sometimes it's the only possible way to hold someone accountable if getting recompensed financially isn't an option.

I've heard of mailbox baseball..perhaps mailbox bowling?

My friends brother growing up took a turn too fast in his old white pickup. Lost the back end and basically drifted around the corner in the snow. Ended up taking out 4 mailboxes with the back end. Was a high school hooligan so off he went.

I'm actually going to ask my neighbor to build me something like this in the next week or two, he is a welder. I need one for my house, and a two headed one for my business and mother inlaws. The state plow guys don't give a fuck and this is the only way I see something working long term.

edit: significantly smaller ones, basically regular sized, just metal and swingable.

my town is great. If the plow is down it has the right of way .... even if you are approaching a 4 way intersection and you are on through way and don’t have a stop sign, they do have a stop sign, they’ll barrel on through and it give a fuuuuuuuu.

it makes driving in this freaking disaster of drivers Ed even worse.

Well, I pretended to be an adult today...

Spent the day doing yard work, and finally cut up a pine that came down. Now I need to move the wood, and burn it...
And dropped a few more shit trees.. I'll clean that up tomorrow.

This morning, I also finally got around to installing the new upper control arms for the Nissan.

Need to drop the Tacoma off tomorrow for their "last oil change", and the recall list.

I cannot WAIT to be done with this dealership.

Didn't do anything besides walk past any of my bikes....:pout:

    I'm tired...

Oh well, needs to be done.
Waiting on the contractors to finish the drywall in the mudroom, and laundry, and I can get back to that...

And, road trip home and back(with a full truck) in June....

Our street is offset from the other part of the street. That's actually a different street, but was added 30 years after our house was built. Every couple of years, some nitwit would come flying up the hill, see the big tree he was about to hit, turn hard right, drive over our front lawn and take out the mailbox. The good part is they never hit the house or the cars in the driveway. The bad part was I had to replace the mail box.

The last time a couple of years ago, I decide to move the mailbox to the other side of the driveway.

A friend came over to help and we started to dig the hole. My town is pretty rocky and usually I can't get more than 8" down before I hit a rock big enough that the hole has to be widened to move. Sure enough we hit a rock 8" down. So, we moved a couple of feet down and tried again. Another rock. Another move, a third rock. Then I decided I'd just have to make a big hole. Well, it turns out it wasn't a rock. It was a road. Yes, a road. Sometime in the distant past someone built a road and then built a road on top of it.

Now, I know when our house was built and I know that it was woods before the area was built up. What I don't know is why there is a road under the road. The good part was that it was soft tar, not concrete. So, we just used a pick to chop through that and get the whole deep enough.

One trick I've learned is to put one of those concrete tubes into the hole, back fill around it with dirt, and then set the pole and pour in the concrete. That came in handy when I had to replace a couple of fence posts where whoever built the fence used big rocks to back fill the hole.

Even easier, dig the hole, set the post and backfill it with dry concrete bag mix. Pack it down like you would if it were stone and then water it in. It won't harden like full strength concrete but for setting posts, it will be plenty strong and it forms perfectly to the outside of the hole.

We used the sono tubes for footings in sun rooms

dig the hole. Set tube. Back fill around tube to hold it in place. Fill with concrete.

we would use concrete tie downs though like simpsons. That way the post isn’t set in concrete. The footing lasts and the post isn’t affected by concrete and can easily be replaced if needed.

I'll give that a try if I ever have to replace another post, thanks.

    Stuff

That's what I did. Only thing I'll add is pre wet the hole before pouring the concrete mix in. I actually filled about 1/4 the hole with water, placed the post, poured in the dry Cement mix, got the post level, and then backfield with a little crushed gravel and spoils from when I dug the hole. But I also dug the hole 40" deep, so I'm not super concerned.

Does anyone in MA do an ECGS bushing for a 3rd gen? I think mine is forked... 20-40mph I can hear a hum every few tire rotations proportional to the speed. When I throw it into 4wd, him goes away.

As I continue to shop, used Tacoma prices blow my mind.
2015 double cab 4x4 trd sport.
See the original as tested MSRP from a TFL truck review.
See the KBB from 6 year old, 55,000 mile version.
    The depreciation was $1,200

That’s crazy town. I love it for sellers. Sucks for buyers. I’m gonna re-appraise my 4Runner before they pick it up Wednesday in case it went up!

@DoubleRGirl is there like a weekend big sell off then early week auction action that sees prices changing? Or am I thinking all wrong

@tacobell007 was in line to do mine before I got an alignment and it was fine - smoked a tire but it wasn’t my bearing. I don’t have a lift but I am not gentle on my truck in the woods so I’m playing with fire leaving it until it becomes a problem

Well folks it finally happened, my wife and I welcomed our first baby girl into the world on Tuesday! 30 hours of labor later and out came a 6lb 4.5oz nugget. She came out with more hair than I have already!
