Let's See Your Cats!!!

Brave man keeping the blinds down lol. We have to raise up the ones at the front of the house every morning

 

All the fosters are doing well (although we had a big scare with a bad bout with upper respiratory infections). The kittens are mostly weened and should reach 2 pounds within the next 10 days. At that point they will go back to the shelter to be spayed/neutered and be put up for adoption. We’ll be sad to see them go.

 

They're pretty good about not bothering them. Helena, the black one, will sometimes paw at them if they are tilted closed. But as long as they can see through them they're content

 

I noticed that my cat has missing upper incisors (the small teeth between the fangs). I remember she used to have them all last year. Last month one was missing and now a second one is missing, leaving 4 out of 6 teeth.

The gums where the missing teeth were are good looking,no wounds, broken teeth bits or anything. It's like the teeth just disappeared...

Anybody else is having the same thing going on with their cat?

I noticed this with one of ours recently too. Gums look good- not red of any visual sign of infection. I read quite a bit about it and there are so many potentials causes. I had to quit reading as I began feeling overwhelmed. One thing said tooth reabsorption was common in Asian breeds. Also read that cats who vomit a lot could possibly loose teeth from the acidity in the puke. Not sure if I’m 100% buying that one. She eats her dry food like crazy so she doesn’t seem to be in any pain but I’m going to be taking her into the vet just to play it safe.

More than you know!!! Never had kids so these guys are my babies. Still doesn’t mean that they’re not a total pain in the ass!!!

Hey, a fellow reefer. My cats don’t care about the tank at all. I thought they’d love it but no.
Just added a new sailfin tang.

 

A few months before he died, we found one of Sterling’s teeth in his bowl. We took him to the vet right away and they told us other than the fact that his tooth fell out, he was perfectly healthy. There was no sign of dental problems at all. They said that sometimes it just happens.

Now we are having issues with Samuel. His annual checkup showed significant dental problems. He’ll have to be sedated for a thorough cleaning and we get to learn about brushing his teeth on a regular basis. Yay.
