Just had my second Moderna on Thursday. Honestly wasn’t as bad as I expected. Some aches for about an hour on Friday. Otherwise just a sore injection site (only felt when touched) for 2 days

Didn’t really notice any unpleasant side effects after the first shot.

or was it worse than actual COVID? I don’t know, never had it (at least that I know of).

Had COVID back in November, first shot was mild symptoms but was def worse than actual covid. Second shot on Friday morning whipped my ass Friday night. Threw up a bunch of times, 102* fever for a couple hours. But was up and riding at 10am Sat morning like nothing ever happened.

Funny, I used to feel the same way. I was against having it (didn't know a lot about it, was rushed, skeptical of gov't bs, etc.), but as a teacher when our school decided to go back to in-person learning, I had to get it done (or go on unpaid leave).
First shot, sore arm, nothing more. Second shot, sore arm, a little headachy and tired for a day. Pfizer.
Now I can hang out with friends and family who have it done, no mask, no worries. In hindsight, as a person who has had asthma since I was little, it made sense. As a rider of sometimes busy trails, without a mask, it also protects me against others who are huffing and puffing on singletrack and narrow trails.
Are there risks? Yeah, probably. But personally, my exposure to others, my history of asthma, made it more risky to not get it.
Curious, if you aren't taking it, why not?

my ass got chapped again riding this weekend, no it wasn't from @Bannerman visiting my tent late at night.

so anybody tried a saddle they recommend at less than 50$? I did the sit bone measure stuff and need a 15cm saddle. @backcountryj what saddle is it you said you had?

yes, I've ridden over 300 miles on this saddle, and I'm not getting used to it. so don't suggest that. I'm also not dropping big money on the ergon pro ball tickler orchid fragrance oil slick saddle either.

like maybe the WTB Koda Steel Saddle?

It’s an SDG. Maybe a Radar, but honestly that’s just a guess based on its shape vs other SDG saddles I’ve looked at online.

Don't need big money to get an Ergon. I think the SM Sport is like $70 MSRP. I have the SM Pro and its the best MTB saddle I have ever ridden.

That’s absolute horseshit. Similar stuff happening here (wife is a teacher). When’s the last time a teacher had to go on unpaid leave with the flu for choosing not to get a vaccine?

sore. it's not a rash. it's chafing/raw skin after riding longer times. after too long I simply cannot stand to sit on the saddle. it's what kept me from riding more than 4 miles the 3rd day in knoxville.

Came from an SDG Bel Air 2 which couldn't have fit better to the WTB Race Vigo on my new bike and my ass hates it. Chamois Butt'r has been the answer for me.

I know you don't, but the best of the best is all that's been recommended to me before. I didn't want to drop that kind of money on something that "might" fix my issue. is 100$ a lot in the grand scheme of things? no.

but why spend 100$ to maybe no be successful when I can spend 40$ for the same possible outcomes? I think 40$ for a properly sized (15cm) saddle, is the place to start and see if that makes a difference. then I could consider going for a nicer version one day of a properly sized saddle.
