My ass hurt by end of day saturday, yesterday, and today.

I don't think it was the saddle, but I bet I took a jagged rock to the taint at some point.
Joking, it's more on the tailbone area, but it's not so bad that it hurts to sit. I think I've broken the tailbone before, but after google research said there's nothing to do about it I just suffered without going to doctor.

@eidsondesign is so humble and fast, can we see the frame from Saturday's wreck?
I didn't get to see it.

You’re the perfect example of, almost no ride time and no issues in the beginning. Without chamois. So I know it’s possible to be comfortable without suffering through 45thousand miles to get “taint durability”

I say it with the slightest exaggeration. I got a big ol booty. in part because of hyper-lordosis, but also genetic. my whole family got some booties.

Anyone have an Amazon special recommendation for a short-term rider. I don't take my hard tail on long trips, it's basically ~1 hour in the woods to run the dog, or for Ss and Gs.

Need to do a looooot of work long term on my full squishy. Some of the hardware is starting to show some surface rust, just need to clean them up a bit. And need to make the rear end stiffer - I don't like how soft it is. Swap out the pedals with my orange ones.

Need to buy/do a dropper post (that's not top of the list though), tubeless swap, plus new tires. Brakes are mediocre I might swap out the Shimano's on my HT over to the squishy.

    not enough.
I'd second the ergons. I have an SM Comp and an SM Enduro on my bikes. some of the more comfy seats I've had on my tush. I used to have an SDG on my Capra which was fine if a bit hard. and my other had a WTB which was okay but VERY noisy whenever I pedaled. My pants were rubbing against the seat fabric and makign like a leathery sound that was buggin the hell out of me.

That said, you'll go through some iterations on the touchpoints of a bike to find what works for you. It's different for everyone. grips, saddles, pedals, brakes. All comes down to personal preference.

yeah. saddle time to work up your taint to prevent saddle soreness. it makes a big difference. Early season I usually feel a TINY bit saddle sore. but it goes away as I ride more. :) The big thing to watch out for is numbness. in your junk or your leg. That means either you're cutting off circulation or you're hitting a nerve. Don't want to do that.

My glorious taint, lol. Idk, I've only ridden two different seats without chammys before buying them. I never had an issue, but I mean if I'm doing a lot of miles Id rather have them.
Also as you and Matt saw, I can go take my feet off the pedals and my seating position is comfortable enough that it doesn't hurt. So idk.

No one got a pic of the swingarm? Sorry these are bicycles, I meant the rear triangle?

Nobody said anything about glorious. You’re just an example of someone that has had comfort on saddles with almost no ride time. I would assume each saddle is sized the same, even if slightly different in other categories, causing you to be ok. My saddle is not 15cm as I measured to be what I needed.

@jjones.yota are you riding with a chamois (and nothing else between it and your skin)? Do your sit bones get sore or just skin irritation? Generally saddle sizing is more of a structural sit bone thing, but a saddle that doesn't fit right could cause friction problems too. But since friction seems to be your issue, you might want to try to find some lube that works for you along with saddle shopping. I'll throw in WTB Volt as cheaper option that comes in dump truck size.

I'm a fan of the WTB Volt on my gravel bike. I think the longest ride I have on it is 2 hours or so and it is solid. I also like the Bontrager Arvada on my Stache. I've heard good things about the Specialized saddles too.

You can call it a swing arm. Nah no pics, but it’s definitely cracked. I’m sure Evil will treat him right.

Is there a correlation between thigh gap and bike seat comfort? Aka if you're chubby or skinny?
