Back when I had my 2G. Western MD in late fall with a tarp and sleeping bag.



Once I went 3G my camp setup got more and more luxurious

Central CO - Mosquito Range on national forest. 10k ft, 65° during the day and 30° that night. Not sure of other states, but most of the main national forest access roads in CO don't open until 15 Jun.

 

That is about the time the forest fires are predicted to start from the drier than normal weather.

True, so if you ever camp in CO, its very important to follow the fire restrictions. But the reason the roads are closed from Jan - Jun is for less wildlife disturbance.

 

You safe with me. I have not spent the night out in the wild in 20 years.

How do you like your Pittman? Hard shell RTT is in my future, looking into a few of them. I really like how big the Pittman is. Is the "overhang" portion sturdy? never seen one extend out that far. Great picture by the way.

 

Thanks I love it. It's on par with the best tents out there and I have camped in 20 mph winds with gust over 40 mph with no issues.

 

Now this is some REAL camping. Legit dude. This is how the boys and I did it back when they were young and we lived back East. Nice to see this...

 

Agree. My pansy ass couldnt do that any more. My tootsies would get cold. I'm so pathetic. I do miss primitive camping like that. Makes you appreciate the comforts you have.

 

Northern Vermont, maiden voyage with the tent. Waterfall next to an old lumber mill is about 50 yards away, love that sound. Definitely making this area a regular thing. Once the water calms down, trout will be on the grill

 

Just spent 5 days exploring the Utah Desert.
