Pulling to the left over 60mph

I recently bought a new Pro I have noticed over the first 4K miles that it constantly pulls to the left normally only at 60+ miles per hour. I was wondering if it was related to the factory Goodyear’s or the narrow track compared to a full size. I took the truck to a dealership they claimed the factory toe was off but it’s still about the same.

 

I’ve heard about the pull to the right quite a bit. I think Toyota only warranties it for the first 1,200 not sure. Have you tried to get the alignment done, or possibly hit a bump or something that could have thrown it off?

Mine pulls to the right and after the alignment it still did the same. Put on some new tires and it’s better than what it was. I think the only real way is to take it to an actual off road alignment shop and have them do it. There are quite a few threads on here about the alignment and it being off.

 

Try having it aligned + tires rotated? If the right front tire is causing pull, sticking it on the rear might help.

 

Got a appointment with a local tire shop to check it out. Starting to wonder if it is the tires cause they’re a lot of negative stuff about them on the web looking around.

What tires are on your truck?

 

25k miles on my 2020 Pro, same tires. Never experienced a pull that wasn't cross winds pushing me, either side. Is this constant on all kinds of roads? I mean, certain highways may have a slope or even subtle ruts that can push you around.
Get your truck checked out.

2021 Pro with 6,500 miles. No issues with pulling to either side. In fact it drives straight as an arrow.

 

Thought maybe cross winds but it’s been pretty constant. If you are in the fast lane normally the road is sloped left and the right lane is to the right for water purposes but either way it pulls left. Only above 60+ though which is crazy to me.

 

Would replace my tires if that’s what it takes. Crazy the thought of it but I guess it is what it is.

 

Taker it to the dealer, have a service manager ride along to demo the issue to them. You have a warranty.

 

Maybe it is the street

Switch to some HT. When I moved from HT to AT on my 2011 tires seem to pull where they want.

Went down newly paved quite concrete street and drive was so smooth.

 

@Sieben81 - Simple things you can do.
- check tire pressure when tires are cold - adjust if necessary and drive
- rotate tires fronts to back and criss-cross rears to fronts - go for a drive
- report back findings - Optional

 

I haven’t rotated anything but the pressure is at 31-32 the door says 30. If the shop can’t find anything I might rotate myself and see.

 

I agree with calzonical. It's not hard and doesn't take that much time to do some tire swapping. I'd first give up on the door pressure. Put 35 in each tire which is a good balance of economy, ride, and wear. I'd then swap the 2 front tires and road test it. I it's the same swap the fronts to the back. If nothing changed it's on the truck. If it fixed it or pulls the other direction, it's a tire(s).

 

Yeah will swap tires this week if the shop don’t have any good answers. Since they are probably going to charge me a hour of labor anyway might see if they will swap them.

 

Toyota warranties the alignment for 10,000 miles or 12 months. Whichever comes first and only 1 alignment during that time. However, if you were to get an alignment and immediately have issues still I would have to assume it would still be covered.

 

Just looked it up again 12months/12k whichever comes first. I knew it didn’t seem right for 12 months. Unless your averaging 100 miles a month.

Agreed, as long as he gets it in there and documented it will hopefully help if it continues out of warranty.

 

Maybe a dumb question but are you in the left lane on the highway when you notice the pull? I swore my 2018 pulled to the left also, but really it was just highway slope for drainage.
