very good point, and why I'd like to try the cheapo route first before jumping in with expensive ones.

I think it's related to pinching maybe though. I really don't know how to answer what it is, other than I know it's not rash and I know it's not my bones hurting. So I describe it the best way I can. it's raw haha

Sorry this doesn't meet his very strict 15cm criteria. How dare you suggest it....what did you not even read his post??

Also not what he asked. But in all seriousness, there are a number of reasons I'd avoid petroleum products for this application.

My solution would be to hit the gym and do some squats till your butts big enough to provide the padding you need :D

If you're just doing this to find a cheap one, that is the same shape as an expensive one, before buying that expensive one you may just he wasting time and money. Even a slight change if shape can be a marked difference between two saddles. Not to mention different materials and construction.

One of my favorite saddles is the Selle Italia Flite. There are two versions of the exact same shape. The old, discontinued, leather and the newer synthetic leather. I love the original and really don't like the new one even though the shape is identical.

You may be less fussy than me though.

I may not end up buying the expensive one though, if the cheap is good. Just want to find out if the sizing will make a difference, without blowing too much money trying different expensive saddles.

I know everyone is hanging on the edge of their seat for this.

    my decision is this

I’m going to lower my seat slightly, and wait for the wtb volt steel 15cm saddle to be back in stock somewhere.

I was reading about saddles before and Vaseline was a recommended product aside from the butter. It was more geared towards women, but if it works it works

You know how toyota trucks take 5.5 quarts of 5W30, and you always have the leftover half quart after an oil change?

    Problem solved!

I....hesitate to make another comment, but keep in mind there is no "width standard" for saddle manufacturers and there is more to fit than just the published width. So if you get a wider saddle and it still doesn't fix the issue, the next step would be to look at the saddle shape and try to find something in the width you need but a different shape or maybe even more/less padding.

trial and error, yes. thank you for the comment. 15cm is the starting point, in accordance with the sqlabs measuring directions.
