Can anyone tell me the exact width of the mattress for the Warrior? I'm trying to determine if this will be okay for my two sons and I.

 

@uploadadventure - any update on shipping and production issues? I purchase a Tank back in March knowing I missed that batch and would be in a June/July batch, but I am concerned that whatever is causing the delays (perhaps in addition to LA ports - not clear what the full picture is), will bleed into the June/July batch.

any insights you can offer are greatly appreciated. Thank you for keeping us all updated as best you can. I know that is not easy or fun for you.

Also - to be clear - I am not in a frustrated mode yet as I haven’t been hit by a delay based on my expectations. I am still very excited as the product and people at the company seem great and the company seems to be hit by the craziness in the world. However, again, obviously some concern to think about.

that said, I really feel for those with the real delay. That sucks. Sorry guys.

Last email that was sent out says in may. 3 or so weeks.
It’s been frustrating for sure. This is why I haven’t been active much on here. I want to get what’s been ordered, out, before starting to push what is in stock. (Which at this point last week was only 8 warriors.. ughhhh) I don’t get to talk to the broker at all so it’s whatever they pretty much say. Last I was told was everything is on the boat. And I’m still under the assumption that this is the case. Not sure why it’s taking almost 3 extra months from when the shipment was completed to getting here… that kinda boggles my mind.. but I read it’s everywhere these days.

at least we don’t have chips in the tent. Out my me GM has 30k cars sitting in lots waiting for 1 little chip to come in from China so they can move them to dealers.

There is a sale going on for those looking to get a new tent. There is a wait. There are multiple shipments on the way. DA has been ordering as much as the factory is letting them. So we are looking to get multiple shipments through the rest of the year.
In my personal opinion, I think this shipment has been the worst when it comes to delayed times. Almost 3 months extra is freaking terrible. I apologize for those who have had to delay plans due to this issue.

 

Hey everyone, I've been looking at the Tuff stuff alpha 2. Of course like all things now, it's on backorder until end of June. So I'm looking at alternatives, the warrior looks like the equivalent costing a little more. Are there any differences in build quality or features on the DA? Also, it says may on the site for shipping, is that realistic? Are they already all pre ordered? Thanks!

 

Let me find out if there are any left available from this order coming in.

For what it’s worth, I think the jury is out on when the RTTs will ship... The site said, "Warriors will be in stock and ready to ship, end of April" (so I wouldn't place much trust on that). I can't speak to the quality of the RTT or if it will be worth the money and wait yet. But, if you have plans in May or June, it will be something to consider. If you order and it goes past the expected date Desert Armor will still want to charge you 20% cancelation fee if you try and cancel.

I am not saying don't make the purchase... Just want you to be aware; buyer to buyer.

 

I ordered mine back months ago, and honestly I’m wicked upset that a couple of my things I’ve had to cancel and honestly I’m not willing to make any plans until I get the tent. I hope DA makes it right for folks, but is it their issue? From my understanding, it took an extra month to get a container to ship, then the port back up. I just hope the tent was worth tying up a chunk of change for months with nothing but air on top of my truck.

 

It’s been pretty frustrating that’s for sure. I understand the current issues with shipping, but what I don’t understand is the customer expectation that was poorly set (and continuing to be poorly set; the site is misleading). Then on top of that that they want to charge you 20% to cancel. I ordered in early February and was told a worst case scenario of March. I don’t envy the sales reps position, but if I would have know going in that I would be the boat that I am in I would have looked elsewhere. Shame... so far not many points for DA in my book.

 

I too ordered back in February, and have a Warrior XL stuck in a container...

I commend the DA team, and Rich on this forum, for being open and communicating about the issues. At least they are talking, which is more than I can say for the bumper fab shop I waited six months on, or the skid plates I’ve had on order for 3 months with zero updates.
I and my wife work in industries heavily dependent on global supply chains. We have first hand experience with factory staffing shortages, port backlogs, driver shortages and lack of raw materials. It’s a crazy and uncertain situation for global commerce, and that’s putting it mildly.

For a luxury item like an RTT, I’m content going with the flow, and camping on the ground until my penthouse arrives.

Nothings gonna stop me from getting out and exploring. (Unless that same driver shortage causes gas prices to skyrocket!)

 

Actually the lack of tanker drivers is going to create some gas shortages at places.
And yes they have been communicating and that’s why I’m not really freaking out. And as far as ground camping, not this early in maine. I got an RTT to extend my camping time.

 

I ordered a grunt in February and yea it sucked to not have it for spring break and a couple other trips but I have a smaller tent for now. Nothing we can do about it so I’m not sweatin at all. I feel bad for the DA guys. It’s out of their hands.

 

I feel for all you guys and gals. I want you to have your tent. I want this shipment here. Like weeks ago. I want the next shipment here haha.

I cannot thank you folks enough for your patience. For those frustrated, I understand. I do. I waited 3 extra months for my tent too. And I don’t even have the updated style like y’all are gonna get.

I know you’re gonna like this thing though. The set up and take down is so easy. The lights are such a nice upgrade. I mean really it’s the little things you’ll appreciate the most.

one thing I will recommend is sleep in a few times, then I’d look at getting a mattress pad or air pad to sleep on. My dad bod is spoiled from my memory foam mattress at home and when I camp I feel like I slept on the floor haha.

 

What are your plans for mounting the XL to the Taco? I have a 10” rack so it’s going to sit lower for me on the bed with an overhang.
