Does 20k sound like a reasonable price for a 2006 Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner with shell. TRD Sport. Tow Package. Long bed. V6 2wd. Low milage 78k.

    Thanks

Im not sure now. 3-4 years ago that would have been a 13-15k dollar truck. Seems like the prices of all used cars have skyrocketed due to the plandemic.

For comparison; I bought my 2013 used in 2017 for $22k out the door. It was a CPO lease return with 26k miles.

I agree with the above, the market right now is a "sellers' market. Price's are thru the roof. I also agree that it's a 14 or 15 K truck normally. But in the end, it's your deal, do you feel comfy with it. Then get , use it and love it, it should last you a long time.

How long do you plan to keep it?
At the price these trucks are binging now, you might want to consider what the market holds in the future. The 2005-2006 had some issues with head gaskets. If you pay a premium now. You might in financially deep in the future, if you need to replace the head gaskets.

They seem to go @ or after 150k typically.

    I agree with the others, it’s a $14-15k truck.

    I wouldn’t pay that amount for a prerunner or a 2006, I picked up my 2012 DCLB 4x4 90k miles for 19

I would see myself keeping it as long as I can. I Would be using it for towing a small 2k lb trailer twice a month. I like the truck it has exactly the set up I would need. But I'm seeing different number online on the value of the truck and is making me question if I should pay the asking or stay firm to a lower price.

Note: I also called the Toyota dealer that serviced the truck recently and told me it was a great truck and had no rust on the frame.
