Rental car companies doubled their prices,a 1 week rental for a compact/tiny car $600 plus a week after all the bullshit taxes, anywhere you rent from.

Read the same article, it was about Hawaii. Where the cheapest rental cars are going for $700 a day.

Not only Hawaii Florida is getting hammered as well. Not as costly but still $800-$1000 a week for a mid size car crazy

Who are these people buying 100k chevy's? The homes being built around me and the car prices at the dealership don't make sense. They all look like they are being built for executives, doctors, or lawyers... and there ain't that many millionaires in this town. Lots of people living on credit in fantasy land these days.

Carvana offered me 31.5, the demand for used trucks must be nuts right now.

I am thinking the same as well. I have no idea who are buying these I think one thing is happening is people are selling homes and flush with cash is my only thinking.

Definitely tempting to sell the house and the truck... but then what. Homes and vehicles are up in value so its not as much of a victory as it appears initially.

I suppose if I sold everything, moved back in with my parents for 5 years, and drove a beater until prices go back to normal I could come out way ahead.... but who really wants to do that.

If I found a good deal on an older raptor with a v8 or maybe a newer f150 with the 2.7 I'd do it. Other than that I'll just stick with my tacoma. It's all paid off and insurance is 65$ a month, gets 20mpg etc I just wish it had more guts.

It will be that way all year. Shortage in chips and other issues due to Covid have driven up the used car prices significantly.

why is it bs? rental car companies sold off their fleets and now they arent able to restock them with the shortage from manufacturers.

Most of this will probably end in the next year or two as inflation kicks in. New car loans at 14.9% interest. And Mortgage rates topping 10%.
    That'll cool both markets off.
Gas will be $7.00/gal on your odd-even days. And that will be when you can find a station that actually has any due to the driver shortage.
Anyone remember the 70's? As some have said, History repeats itself.

"Tax and spend". Definition of insanity.

I thought about it. Especially the house, I could come out like a bandit right now. I'll just live in my trailer and post occasionally in the TW Express thread whenever I want it pulled somewhere.:D

But then again, rv prices are stupid too. I could almost get what I paid for it. Crap.

Holy shit vroom appraised my 18 TRD Pro with 15k miles at $47,184 which is about 5k more than I paid new. They must be selling these things for over $50k to turn a profit.
