They make compounds and polishes that can be used in direct sun and heat. Was a lifesaver when I lived in Mississippi!

Poorboy's Pro Polish or SSR1 have been my go to for many years. Both are pad dependent and you can get a really nice swirl free shine. Been fond of the microfiber pads recently myself. My GTI had super hard clearcoat and difficult to polish paint and it finished nicely using a Microfiber cutting pad.

In order to remove years of UV damage, trees and brushes scratches I used a wool pad with M101. Paired with the PC 7424.

Which microfiber pads are you using? Just pick up Buff & Shine Uro Fiber pad. I have the Meguiars Microfiber pad but never used them, plus Buff and Shine cutting microfiber pad. I find the wool pad cuts better than the B&S microfiber pad.

Are still the Poorboys Pro Polish, SSR1?

I used Griot's Microfiber pads recently, I've become real fond of them. Honestly with those you don't even need wool anymore. Wool is honestly a waste on a DA anyways. The Poorboy's polishes I mentioned are Pro Polish and SSR1, two different products. The Pro Polish can be as aggressive or fine depending on your pad. The SSR1 is a finishing compound, but will not finish well with say a heavier cutting foam pad. I learned that one the hard way. Have not tried with with the microfiber yet.

I do recommend stepping up to a more powerful machine. The PC is ok, but definitely lacks in the power department on heavier correction. I was very impressed with the Harbor Freight Bauer 20mm throw 6" DA. Was about $107 with PA sales tax.

I have really soft paint that sucks to work with. Wiping with any microfiber will cause marring.

Are the Griot's Microfiber pad the same as the Buff and Shine?

Using the PC 7424 I have no other choice to use wool to get the desire correction. Microfiber pads doesn't give me the correction I'm looking for.

What are your thought on 3D/HD and Sonax compounds?
