Just looked in the one of my parts collection boxes.... found a brush and file kit that came with one of the carbs I ordered for a customer . Welp, now I can sleep night all

 

This is exactly what I have, mine is just much older lol.

They don't go small enough.

 

Nat gas/propane orifice drills or root canal dental drills.They WILL open up the jet larger if you are not careful but they are what I use on very small jets like those Honda uses.

 

Besides, with that drill kit, you can bore out the offices on your propane grill and run it off the house natural gas system.

Agreed. Trust me, I tried lol. It’s more frustrating than it’s worth. I’ve had luck with a TINY sewing needle, but honestly some of that gunk is rock hard. The micro bits work great.

I DO NOT CONDONE THE FOLLOWING!!! IF YOU DO THIS, DO IT OUTSIDE ONLY, WEAR A RESPIRATOR AND GLOVES!!!

MEK will damn near melt that gunk right out. It’s wildly toxic and will damn near kill you if you inhale it. I used it on my MF carb that sat for years with stale gas in it. Looked brand new inside.

That said, I’d probably just buy the Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner if I did it over.

 

A set goes for between $4 and $10 or so. They last a long time if you are careful, you'll lose them very VERY easily though if you don't immediately put them back into the case. I put the case in an old Altoids metal box.

We ordered one of these today to move our gooseneck trailers around without having to hook to the truck every time. We have 5 different gooseneck trailers so it’ll be nice to be able to pick them up with the 3 point and move them around as needed, plus I can use it as a hay spear if I need to.

We bought a 72” tine bucket from them a little while ago so I cashed in the “Loyal T” points for $35 off this order.

 

Haha, truth! I spent an hour looking for them last time I needed them. Wouldn't ya know, they were right where I left 'em!

Yeah, serious stuff. I actually found it at Home Depot about six years ago. No idea if they still sell it there, the one can will probably last me an eternity because I hope to never have to use it again.

 

Before I mess with drill bits on a carb, I pull the needle valves out and use Seafoam or Gumout in the pressurized can to squirt them out, with the plastic straw. Let sit, repeat. Sometimes it even works. Don't forget how many turns out the needles need to be from lightly seated.

16hp Kohler on my Wheelhorse ran good I thought, but the cleaning helped. Still not quite right tho. I found the correct needle settings online, 2.5 lo and 3.5 hi. Both were set at 1.5, coz that's how it was when I got it. That made a world of difference.

It and my 5hp Briggs tiller prefer real leaded gas. I supply the alky haul in my belly.

What do you use the tine bucket on?

 

It’s for cleaning up loose hay around the round bale feeders and cleaning out the barns. Anything with hay in it is next to impossible to clean up with a smooth bucket. Stuff like this:

 

Are these savable?

I'm thinking not. Just did a test run and the deck has a hell vibration.

Regardless the exmark to toro deck conversion was a success. Have a few punch list items to knock out and then to the road it goes.

 

If you’re selling it, maybe.

I know what is causing the vibe and I don't want to have to explain to a buyer why the vibes seem excessive.

I really can't lose. I'll double what I got into blades and get my money back.

Punch list for the rig:

Hydraulic dampener.

New front wheels. These are weather checked bad!

Fix slow leak on left drive wheel.

Adjust hydraulic steering. Wants to creep backwards when in neutral.

New left gas tank gas cap.

New blades. (Gonna be base models).

Choke knob needs epoxied back on it something similar.

Install new steering lever padding (both sides).

Touch up paint on deck.

Debating replacing the deck drive belt. Looks a little rough. Knowing me, I'll get one coming.

Replace hydraulic filter and oil.

It may look like a lot of work, but it will make the thing a reliable unit.

Adjust park brake. The rig should not be able to creep backwards when in neutral with park brake on.

I'm sure other random things will pop up.

I like to mow my own yard a couple weeks to run it thru it's paced and find any bugs.

 

That's good you're going to do all that and someone will be getting a good mower that is ready to roll. I know it helps keep the price up to what you want as well, if it don't need any work there's no haggling room
