I recently inherited my dad’s 08 Tacoma TRD. When he bought it new he said “ It would be the last truck he would ever buy.” He keep it in great shape. It has 92k mostly trips from VA to Nashville coming to visit me.

I found the log book where he kept up with the gas mileage. Dad called her the “Tennessee Road Runner “. I’ll be hold onto that name and look forward to driving it many more years.

Once a fully loaded log truck broke down in the middle of a major intersection. Dad stopped and asked the VA state trooper if he wanted him to pull it out the intersection? The trooper said with your truck? Dad said, yes. The trooper thought ok it will sure save me a lot of trouble if it was moved.

Dad got his tow straps out the back, hooked up to the rig and pulled it out of the intersection and up the road a bit out of the way.

The trooper was awestruck with his mouth open along with the driver as dad unhooked and put the straps up.

    Had to share that :)

I want to do a couple mods. Black headlamps with halos and led having that nice hint chrome accent in them. Would love a good plug and play.

Also the rubber all over the truck tends to weep down the side leaving black marks. A hint on the black bumper parts, they’re fading.

Already found some good tips here and look forward to more.
