Hey this is my first post on here, love the site! I just got my wife a cement 2021 TRD sport premium and she wants it to be a pavement princess (meaning it looks like an off-roader but will never will be). We’re putting in a 2 inch leveling kit and looking at these rims:
    http://www.fueloffroad.com/wheel/4531/fuel-1-piece-wheels-lethal-d567/?finishID=258&lugs=5
They have some offset, and the tires she wants are 285/70/r17 (although she just changed her mind and wants bigger rims, so maybe 18inch rims)
I’m just curious because it’s so hard to picture how far they with stick out? I don’t want them too far past the fenders. Also if anyone has any pictures of black Westin pro-traxx 4inch oval side steps installed so I can see how they look... Any help is appreciated.

Those wheels are -18 offset, stock wheels are +25. So the centerline of your tires is going to be about 1.7 inches further out than stock. If you are concerned about this, I would recommend a zero offset wheel. Method along with other manufacturers make quite a few wheels in zero offset. Additionally, unless you are ready to do some serious trimming I would personally recommend against 285s. It can be quite a rabbit hole to get them to fit.

Thank you so much for the 1.7” number, I’ve been trying to find out in inches exactly how far they would stick out, this helped immensely.

No problem. One correction, those rims are actually -12 offset in 17s, and since you have a trd sport the stock offset is +30. So the net change is 42 mm, still very close to 1.7 inches further out. However, that is the change in the center line of the tires. If you are moving from 265s to to 285s, you have to add in the difference in tire width / 2 if you want to compare how much further out the edge of the tread is. With that in mind, the edge of the tire tread will stick out 52mm more, or right about 2 inches.

Yeah thanks again, I showed the wife with a tape measure and yeah, too far out. She’s currently looking at some zero offset rims. And I’m thinking 275’s are probably smarter. We had Nitto Ridge Grapplers 270/70/17 on our 2017 on the stock rims and they looked ok (could’ve used an inch offset in the front at least and they REALLY sucked in the snow, so we’re going with KO2’s this time)

I have the fuel hostages in chrome. Not a fan of them. They are about 10 years old now, but they started pitting really early on and now pretty much all the chrome on the backside has flaked off. Its pretty well known that fuels chrome plating process isnt all that great. I havent heard of any problems with their painted rims, but then again i havent searched around either. Just wanted to gice a heads up in case you like their chrome. 275/70/17 might be a size you want to consider. Only thing is the selection is small.

Thanks for the reply, any/all feedback is appreciated. My wife wants black rims with some shininess in them. Something similar to those Fuel Lethal rims I posted the link to. Just looking for some zero offset ones now, but so far every one she picks has at least -12 offset. She gets all excited saying she found some, then I have to shoot her down. And she wants 18 inch rims now, so looking at 275/70/18

might just end up putting the rubber on the stock rims to see how they look and get rims after.
