I recently bought a pedal commander and went to install but as I disconnected the throttle response I notice that this orange wire is in the way and it looks cut or ripped(from the prongs) . I don't want to force the pedal commander wire until I know what this is and what it does. Can you help me? (Picture not that great)

I’m with @Stocklocker and that is the environmental seal of the connector.

Okay I figured it out. The plastic cover came off with the plug. Just pull that plastic and that outer piece will come off. You can put that orange rubber piece back into place after that.

Just had this same problem happen and wanted to share what I found.

As a previous member pointed out, that orange gasket belongs inside your gas pedal throttle connection as it is the weather seal. For some reason if you don’t line up the Pedal Commander correctly it will push up inside it like the OP showed. You can get it out of there by simply pulling apart that inner white part from the plug and fish out the gasket. Once that is done just slip it back into the OEM connection on the gas pedal itself. Its not easy obviously because how high up it is inside the foot well, but here’s a reference picture.
