I emailed the company and sent them pictures of it. They said everything is hooked up correctly

It's all good man. Even the pro's had to start somewhere. Keep going and keep trying new things in that area and you will get there. We all get comfortable in our areas of expertise and become timid to expand out sometimes. I have been there, done that, multiple time. You have a good group in this forum to assist.

Remember how I said I had some fluid where the trans and t case meet? I dropped the case again today and Niagara Falls opened up. It’s not gear oil, so definitely trans oil. It doesn’t have that rotten egg smell. I’m going to reseal the back of the trans with FIPG and top it off and see what happens.

I think someone mentioned this already but are you using the FJ flange or taco flange? The taco flange for the manual has a seal, the FJ does not.

I don’t remember, I think I’m using the FJ one. I noticed the other has an O ring which would make sense as to why it’s leaking. I just didn’t see it mentioned in Wyatts original write up. If there’s anyone else that has swapped input shafts on the 6 speed, is the plate with the O ring the one that should be used?

Yeeeep, this pic confirms it. Stock case out of the 6 speed uses the O ring. Well at least I know the issue now.

Thanks for chiming in and saving me a lot of frustration of having to drop the case for a third time, inevitably.

Already posted in your other write up, but yes that'll do it. The A750F has a rear seal in the housing whereas the RA60F does not. I do remember when swapping my crawler in, putting the seal housing extension in thus negating the need for the O-ring. If you are strictly swapping an automatic FJ case into a RA60F 6 speed you will need that O-ring and associated 6 speed front plate, otherwise there will be no seal between the transmission and t-case. Picture of the seal housing extension used for the crawl box, which installs a seal similar to the OEM A750F output.

I will stick with the OE setup for now. Trying to save some money on this unexpected job.

First time posting. I read the rocksolidtoys write up a year or so ago but can’t find it anymore. I have a 2011 taco 4cyl 4x4 with an auto. Do I need a t-case out of an auto or manual fj? Is that write up still available anymore I remember there being a ton of info in it but can’t seem to find it. Thanks

Hi Corbin, you’d be looking for the t-case out of an automatic FJ. Those cases were part-time. The manual FJ came with full-time cases which will not be a bolt in solution.

Few pages back, but some information @69bronco11taco might be interested in.

I know it is almost 100 pages, but lots of those 100 pages are worth reading.

Agreed. Pretty much everything that someone would need to know to do the swap is in here. Heck, I only read the first 35 pages and I came out mostly ok.
