This driver's response to this attempted murder and robbery is pretty awesome. This guy is very cool under fire. They were driving a Landcruiser Bakkie which is outfitted as a cash in transit vehicle. That vehicle survived quite a bit of gunfire, because you can't kill those Toyotas. This happened in South Africa, but it's like a scene out of Heat. Maybe we have a South African member who can add some detail here.

    Here's the dashcam footage.

    Here's an article

The driver looked like he was ready to fight when he got out at the end. I suspect, rolling up on them and attempting to kill the driver right off, made it a bit personal. I saw another article that said the driver is an instructor at a tactical shooting school.

Very composed professionals. I was surprised they weren't equipped with a communication device to call for help instantly. Took a bit of time to get on a cell phone.

Probably because they were being shot at...lol but a CB type radio would be faster than a cell.

CB radio or the button I have on my 2018 Tacoma's steering wheel that activates my cell phone voice recognition to allow me ask, "Call my wife" and the number dials automatically.

Idk what video y’all watched. The guy on the right looked like he was going to shit himself the entire time and did nothing without instruction from the driver. He froze up completely and was lucky he was with that savage ass driver.

Nah man. He pulls his pistol, then grabs the rifle and sets his pistol in his lap instead of reholstering, and then drops it on the floor. Then holds the AR in one hand and pistol in the other like he’s fucking John Wick. I disagree lol

70 series LandCruisers in ZA have stereo head units and air conditioning as optional upgrades. These are not luxury cars and hands free mobile phone use only exists via aftermarket.

He’s the second, he did exactly as he was supposed to do which is to stand by for the vehicle commanders orders.

ZA is crazy these days and the N4 is as wild as you want with shootings near daily. Travel between Pretoria - where they were - and Jo’Berg is taken at your own risk. I lived in Pretoria in the early ‘90s and it was interesting to say the least. Now, it’s just crumbling as the country is torn apart.

Well I was wondering why he didn't sweep the doors and try to hit the Ranger dudes outside the car, break off the door and smoosh a few of them in the process, but then I realized that is probably unnecessary risk of getting hung up somewhere. Quick thinking.
