Do any of you 2nd gen guys deal with a bit of take off shake when you first start to accelerate after from a dead stop. I have had this since I bought the truck stock with 50k on it. It got a tad bit worse when I added a 1 inch rear lift block. I have read about "all" of the solutions but it seems like some people never get rid of it and it happens even on brand new stock Tacomas. Feels like the rear of the truck has a slight jiggle right when I start to accelerate. Only happens about 50% of the time which is weird. The jiggle only last for a quick second and then its smooth as glass after that. I ordered some 2.5 degree axle shims to try but I really want to avoid creating any vibes at other speeds.

Sunday was a gorgeous day outside. I didn't get to put any mud on the truck like some of you did. I did take the nice drive up to Lime Rock Park for the Pagani gathering, hosted by Miller motorsports.
It was a public event with 500 tickets available. Minimum $20 donation for a ticket. The display was a collection of 16 blue Pagani Huayra and 3 non-blue ones. (It was a blue sky day )

I'm guessing it is a little bit of axle wrap due to ,for lack of a better term, "weak" leaf springs. Since it's known that they sag under the smallest load, I'm guessing the leaves will wrap pretty easily also under the load of initial acceleration causing the shake. Just my theory.

That was what I initially thought it was. Does yours do it too? My first thought was to find a set of low mile 3rd gen leafs and just swap them out but it seems like plenty of people have tried everything from new leafs to shimming the pinion angle down, and still have the same vibration or it occurs at a higher speed.

I've had an AAL lift in the rear since the truck was 2 months old. Mine does not shake. Can't remember if it did when stock. If I am right, traction bar or more leaves would help. As for pinion angle, its fine under normal circumstances but off when torqued under initial acceleration.

I had my mom keep making the noise as my neighbor and I walked around the outside looking and listening. Upon braking it flexes, and clunks as it rebounds. I'm pretty certain that's it. Even if not, the bushings are pretty shot. I'd rather replace the whole arm than dealing with replacing the bushing

I just replaced my LCA instead of replacing my bushings. 130k miles. I got my parts from https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/

They sell at wholesale cost. ($281est each instead of $400 each) They helped me build a whole cart for my project. I ended up replacing the inners/outer ties rods, LCA, camber adjusters (seized) and put on stainless steel brake lines along with all new nuts and bolts to replace everyone.

I did this all at once due to age and I didn't want to expose any new vibrations by replacing 1 part at a time. It was pricer that piece by piece, but it ended up in a great new front end that drives like a new truck.
