I was literally just going over that with the wife. 100% worth it, canceling carvana. Officially up 5.5k from our original offers when she was getting antsy earlier this year and I thought we were being low balled.

I KNOW WHAT I GOT!

That is sort of comical... I wonder if they change the capacity or lower the 'usable range' on the dipstick. Almost sounds like they're overfilled if you put the oil in the current range, in which case I'd understand. I think the 5.0's take something like 8 quarts of oil so it's far from running out!

Yeah I read some on the f150 forum and apparently Ford tested it at a lower level and also change something with the mapping on the fuel cut on deceleration and bam- new dipstick and an oil change is the fix.

Getting ready to put the truck up on blocks. Stripping and POR-15ing the frame and putting in new suspension. Anyone want to take a shift running the wire wheel?

That's one of the nice things about Toyotas. They are not that comfortable, they don't have the fancy tech, and they get terrible fuel efficiency. But hot damn you can treat them like garbage and generally they are going to be running (if they don't rust) at 250k miles. My landcruiser engine (4.6 V8) is still used in a bunch of lexus's (not sure if it's still the base Tundra engine or not). I takes like 7.5 L of oil, and the thing could care less if you've only got 2L oil in the crankcase. I know everyone here has moved onto fancy domestic offerings, but there's something to be said for simplicity....

I'd invest in one of those wire cups you can put on an angle grinder to help with some larger areas of the frame.

Yeah, I have an assortment of wheels and cups here, and a crappy little media blaster to get into corners and seams. I really only want to do this once...

Yeah, exactly, what's all this about selling guns? What good is money without the guns?
