Do a google search for rescue on the breed your looking for then start your search that way if that is what your looking for. Visit the pound as well. Also call breeders for any dogs that might have been returned or paid for and never picked up. There's lots and lots of ways to get what you want and lots and lots of pups and younger dogs as well as the senior ones that would love a forever home....

Thanks! They are great dogs. However, we just finished building a solid 6ft privacy fence with 6x6 posts, and Rocky jumped it. I swear, he is like the Zeus of dogs. It is unreal. He can stand up and put his arms on the top and look over the fence with his giant ears standing up. I was trying to avoid an electric fence and thought this huge fence would work, but I think I am going to have to put an eletric fence on the inside to keep him away from it. :(

Damn, that thing is killing me. It make me laugh and get depressed. I have my two dogs, an 11 year old lab (jsut turned 11 in December) and a 2 year old boxer and I miss them so much. I unfortunatly spend 10+ months gone from home each year. I am a weapons engineer and I deploy with troops to Iraq and afghanistan. I would take them in a heart beat and they would be happy as can be. I cant wait to get home to them, 5 days from now I am home and its time to celebrate a late christmas/new years.

They get all excited every time I call home. They can hear my voice so my girl puts me on speaker phone and they jump around like retards. I love them both, I wouldnt trade them for the world. My Lab has lived around the world with me and always been there for me...

I miss and love my dogs like no other!!! First thing we are doing when I get home is taking the boat out, they are both swimming fools. The second is I am taking my lab duck hunting. He still goes at it like a 1 year old puppy!!!

If you have ever wondered who loves you more, your dog or your wife/husband, try this experiment.

Lock them both in a closet for a couple of hours.........When you open the door, check to see which one is happy to see you. :D
