Interesting. I had seen that before, but that seems to be a lot of relays for the setup. I did see this from Redarc https://www.redarc.com.au/bcdc-dual-with-jump-start-feature-the-ultimate-battery-setup which foregoes the relays.

I'm looking at getting the Cascadia hood mount solar setup and doing something similar. I really wanted to charge the primary battery with it but seems like it would do more harm than good. Using it direct to the Redarc would keep my aux in good shape and allow a bypass jump if really needed. I'd just love a simpler way to maintain my primary AGM as opposed to unhooking it every time to trickle charge it. How do you maintain your primary AGM?

I wonder if that allows a back charge to the start battery when the truck is off...

It looks like the SB is setup normal where it overflows from the start to the house when full... that won't allow for any flow from the house to the start when it's full..

Look at the orientation of the SB in that diagram vs the one I used... and note, the one I attached was provided by Redarc as well.

That's the main reason why I did that setup.

Walls complete... learned some good tricks on the first side.. second side much easier.

I was going to fill the top with some excess I have but I kinda like that white strip... adds some glow to the light

I love the way this thing turned out. It looks like a fantastic adventure-mobile!

Have you done any maintenance to the supercharger other than replacing the belt? I have about 90k (kilometers, so like 55k miles) on mine now and I'm planning to change the oil. I see a lot of people are switching out the coupler as preventative maintenance. I have no problems with my unit at all, but maybe while I'm doing things?

i've done the oil twice now. i will now be doing spark plugs every 40-50k now. they recommend longer, but mine were beyond toast when i did them last. i'm around 85k on it now, maybe 90k.

i have the coupler, but i could not get the nose off when i was ready to do the mainteance. i was going to grease the needle bearings as well, but could not get it open to do so. when i get a proper garage where i can keep the truck protected for a bit, i'll take the blower off and have it sent in for a rebuild.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
The S/C community has settled on 30k mi max for the iridium plugs. The new ruthenium option may hold up longer but they are not made specific for our application. The replacement coupler from ZZperformance is a solid, carbon fiber version, versus the spring loaded, plastic coupler. The solid will make more of a rumble.

Should probably do them every 30k with the sc. more than that is really pushing them.

Plugs were that bad eh? I have some waiting for me to put them in but I wasn't in too much of a rush because I'm still 10k km short of the service interval for them (they said 100k km, aka 60k miles). I guess it's a good thing I ordered them a bit early.

I ordered the oil & zzperformance coupler kit; it was only a couple bucks more than just the oil so why not. I guess I should order grease for the needle bearings too if I'm going to take the nose apart. Thanks for the grease reminder.

Being able to send the whole unit off for a service sure sounds nice. That's the strongest argument for buying a DD that I have.
