You dont need a lawyer to have the truck bought back. You can do it completely on your own. I did it with a Dodge Dart a few years ago. It is a lot of back and forth with documents and follow up, but it wasnt complicated at all.

Just contact Toyota corporate to get it started.

I have a very similar problem on CC but I’m running 5.29 and 33/35 depending on the day with or without the tune and a ton of weight. So I stopped using CC.

I noticed a similar issue with my wife's 2021 4Runner, with cruise on at 80mph it pins down and runs 4800rpms and doesn't like to up shift. I had a 12 hour commute so I had time to mess with it, for whatever reason when the trans wouldn't shift up I would just tap the gas with the CC on and it would shift up and be fine until the next hill where it needed to shift down. Now in my opinion this is absolutely stupid to have to "help" the CC. But I would be curious if the taco was the same. I don't ever run my CC on the taco since I am in town with a short commute so I couldn't say for sure. I realize they are two very different platforms but... designed by the same fellas no doubt. The 4runner loved 4th at 3000rpms and wouldn't up shift until I tapped the skinny pedal. if it was pulling a hill it would drop to 3rd and try to spin 4800 rpms at 80.
