For me personally, I was looking for a bit more of a textured look. Vinyl/plastidip is definitely the way to go if you just want the color.

He's got a shop and gets these parts so he has them at intervals. These seem to be his newest sets.

I’ve used Vinyl dye before on plastic parts with great success, bonds to the material very well. Auto part stores carry it.

It's not that bad. I did mine but since they were new OEM it already had the 3m automotive double sided tape. Adding that would be the hardest part and it wouldn't be that bad.

I did mine last Summer. It’s incredibly easy if you prep correctly. I used Rustoleum primer and bed liner. Gave the fenders a textured look and protection from rock chips which is why I didn’t like the color-matched flares in the first place.

I would suggest buying new fender clips on Amazon. I broke several trying to remove the flares. You can also buy the OEM adhesive which runs along the entire perimeter of the flare. I found this to be easier then using a roll of adhesive from your local hardware store.

@TRD__Chris Wow! those look really good! I did pretty much the same process as you and it worked exactly the way I thought it would, from far off you can't tell that it's textured but get close up and you can. Excited to get mine installed now.

Damn, that turned out great looks good. On a side note your tire wheel/setup, Falken WP 265/75/16? on 17x7 TRD rims?

I bought the scratched set as that was all he had when I bought. They're barely scratched and I know I'm going to scratch them up myself so I'm not as worried.

My flares on my SR5 were dirty all the time and had some scratches so I just taped them off, wiped down with alcohol wipes, and painted on rustoleum bedliner with a foam brush. Here's the paint, it goes on easy with a foam brush. Wear gloves, it's hard to get off.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0070S7U4Y

I need to touch up the flares where my tire rubs, but I'll do that after I get skinnier tires that don't rub. It looks great everywhere else a couple of years and 10s of thousands of miles later. Here's a pic right after I installed them:
