Made me feel better about how much you are paying a month for insurance. I'm paying $59.62 a month with Geico. My warranty expires this fall and I'm thinking about adding Geico's warranty plan on my policy so I will be paying another $15.00 a month for piece of mind.

 

I had basically the same truck as you. Just sold it today to a local dealer through KBB instant cash offer and got $36k with 28k miles. Sticker was $42k and paid $39k 18months ago.

 

If you are talking about the Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) Geico offers the vehicle has to be less than 15 months old and less than 15,000 miles .

 

Yes. Talked to them a couple months ago. My truck just turned over 7,000 miles. They said I can get it because I'm under the 15,000 mile limit.

 

I'll trade mine for a electric golf cart if it gets that bad. I don't drive out of town that much anyhow.

I honestly think my offer will increase to 43-45k.

The shortage is going to be much worse in 2-3 months.

I just had a good example of why these prices are through the roof. I just bought the last 2 ford transit connects off my commercial sales guy for our work vehicles, these were the last 2 physically on the lot. If I get a factory order in TODAY, i can get 2 more in 6 months. He said the larger Ford transits are out 9 months. They've got thousands of completed vehicles at the factory, waiting on chip and electronics deliveries from shortages out of Taiwan. This might also be why some dealerships are showing 100 on their website, they may be allocated to a specific dealership, but they aren't going to be shipped for months.

carmax just gave my son $2000 for a piece of crap 2000 cherokee with over 200k miles on it.. i couldn't believe they actually paid that for it..
