Yeah, exactly, what's all this about selling guns? What good is money without the guns?

Toyotas are like a sewing machine. Simple, not very smooth but just keeps on running!

I've owned both Toyota's and Fords. There is no comparison of the quality difference between the 2

Yup I always try to stock up in the fall. Plus I refuse to go to a pool store unless other options aren't available..giggle.

That's the usual..I have a nice size spare room. But..wife is having surgery and has to live on one floor for a while. Not really an option to move gym upstairs, b/c low ceilings and eaves. FML

It does seem to be turning into a race to the bottom IMO. Most companies are fine these days if we are being honest and every one has its own issues. I just wish toyota would cut the shit and release their new cars and stop with TSS bullshit. Alas, no car is ever going to have less gadgets at this point unless the government fails and we start over completely.

Imagine a v-8 truck, no nannies, extended cab with a REAL bed and a SUPER simple interior, via 1980 maybe just blue tooth or carplay on a single din....but with some better materials than they used to use and an obviously stronger frame and crash ratings then they used to have. Just clean, no bullshit. Nice and BOXY

I'd go to the store today and buy it, and maybe even a second one just to drive when the first dies in 20 years. The tundra is sorta close, but I think we've past the point where any new car doesn't have a ton of downsides to a enthusiast.

Picturing a 80s Volvo into a mid size truck, that could have been great... Mercedes had their crack at a pickup and it turned out to be shit but had a lot of promise. Either could have been something, instead we get Hyundai

I'm worried the new new tundra will be turned into a tech box.

I agree with this, although I feel like we're coming at it from different angles :stirthepot:

In all seriousness though, I absolutely cannot sit here and tell you Ford is the pinnacle of quality control, but I wouldn't say Toyota is either. Most of the reasons we all buy the brands we do is personal experience. In my lifetime of vehicle ownership, I've had more stupid little shit go wrong with my Toyota than any other vehicle I've owned (sans my first car which was an Oldsmobile POS that had some deep rooted electrical issues) and I wasn't even involved in the frame buyback crap. I'm not a brand fanboy, I'll buy whatever suits me at the time and fits the budget. For the last few years, for me, that's been Ford. Next truck, I may put Toyota back on the list, not married to Ford by any means.

Nowdays I don’t think there’s anyone who’s “bad” in the truck market. Everyone’s got their faults and if well maintained everyone will last. I know my inclination - against a giant touch screen controlling everything and my experience with FCA in the past tends to give me a less than optimal view on them though. But if the dakota comes back that would be a viable option for sure!

waiting for the new mitsu to come back too. That’s supposed to be in the next few years but that plan might have gotten shit canned.

wasn’t that Mercedes basically just a rebadged Nissan?

Yeah, that was the problem.... Should have made their own and offered an AMG package... Could have been sweet.

Not sure I could call the Ridgeline a truck.. drive an odyssey and you would agree it's damn vehicle

I think it’s a great truck. If it wasn’t for their cost I’d probably be in one. The payload is about the same as a Tacoma and way more comfortable and convenient to own.

I can't get over the cost myself. My dad has the sport which is one up from the base, or was when he got it. He loves it, my mom loves it, its the perfect truck thats actually a car. I dont even think the new ones with the badass package look that bad anymore either.

Honestly, I think its better than the 3rd gen tacoma without question (unless you are an ACTUAL off-roader, no a poser ass mall crawler), people just get hung up on the looks, which I can admit is legit issue.

I hated the bed sides in the first gen. I actually like the 2nd gen and the 2nd gen redesign, myself. I understand the looks, but meh, I don't care (personally)

They did away with the base model. It now STARTS MSRP 36.5, which is how much I paid for my truck. I'm sure they're roughly 1 to 1 in terms of features to cost, etc, but I don't want a sunroof blah blah, etc. Also, now that I have owned this truck, if I had to do it again I would be in an SR hands down instead of up trim to the OR. :notsure:

But then again, I do shizz like this so I'm happy with what I bought.

If the honda was 5-8k cheaper I think it'd sell even better. And yes I was not talking about people on here with their tacomas, or at least not most lol
