    The higher MPH the more you'll notice. Yours should be about 5mph at 65mpg higher

    And as I clearly stated. Gears will have absolutely nothing to do with how far your speedo is off. Gearing is irrelevant to what he was trying to say and I was pointing that out.

    A 285/75 will have about 7% difference so you wont see much until the higher speeds.

    I wouldnt waste your breathe on him, knows nothing and contributes nothing.

    Alright Einstein all I know is he stated his tire size and gear ratio and commented on his MPH which is not accurate. So you're reply about gear ratio alone is irrelevant. I'm done dude.

    Tire size is the only thing that changes speedo. Not gears.

    For anyone who looks back and this and has to decipher some shit.

    Yeah you guys are totally right my speedo did not change. Which is awesome because I'm sending this hypertech box back.

    I'll be honest, the 5.29s in my MT are way lower than I thought they would be. About 72-74 is my top speed while keeping the revs under 3k.

    I'm also running a kdmax tune - she's a bit touchy now.

    However I'm about to do a cross country trip in the next 10 days. Will be gone a month. I'll really get to test these things out :bananadance: and I'm pretty excited for it!

    Edit: I'm also looking forward to doing donuts in 2lo now!! Hahaha

    This is long thread..I'm wondering about REM polishing Nitro gears; specifically whether I should get it done and if it hurts the gears lifespan. I keep reading conflicting opinions

    It polishes the gears removing imperfections in the manufacturing process. I'm not aware of any negative effects or opinions.

    I'm getting them with my 33"s. I'm also going to be about 600lbs over stock dry, and 1300lbs+ with passengers and gear. Mostly I chose them because I know how the truck feels at higher RPM and how weak it feels at ~1500 rpm going 70.

    It's happiest with stock gears going 40-55, that's just unrealistic for 90% of my miles. I'm either trying to keep up with traffic going 70+ or on city roads/off-road going 20-35.

    I'm by no means a lead footer, I never felt like there was an issue with stock tires until I added a lot of weight, like 1000lbs. With 33s that got worse. Even now I'm still okay with how it drives around town, it's mostly at highway speed where I'm either squeezing it hard to stay in 5th at 65 or it's burning fuel like elon musk going 70 in 4th

    I see all these comments about doing the front locker at the same time as the gears. Is that just because it's easier to do it while everything is apart?

    Can I do my gears now and add a front locker later?

    Nothing but good, pair that with a tune, and you'll get way more smiles per gallon.

    Can do it later but you will have to pay for labor twice essentially which is why most do it together. That said you will rarely need the front locker.
