    Good morning all,

A little skiff of the white stuff this morning, 30 degrees but going to warm up the next three days and be spring like. Travlr, I totally can relate to 50's & 60's feeling hot. Love that feeling as it means spring and summer are right around the corner. Humming Birds are returning, birds are singing in the mornings - AHHH

Have a few maintenance around the house and garage from winter weather then going to CLEAN and re-organize the garage before starting the ongoing fire mitigation job. Hopefully will get to mitigation early next week.

    Have a great day everyone

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Peoples! Beautiful day popping up here in Centex, looks like a good day to work in the yard, so I probably will do some of that. Have to adjust the garage lights I replaced yesterday, and re-aimed after moving the flags. Then some yard work.

Oh first, it's play "Where's Waldo" with the truck.....:sadviolin:

    Happy Cinco de Mayo people!

Avacados and tomatoes on sale so it looks like guacamole and salsa... and loaded nachos for breakfast.

The message is updated this morning - "closed due to an illness". If I have to play Dick Tracy here, I'd speculate that my mechanic got Covid, as it went from emergency to illness... My desire to believe in the good (thanks, Mom) lets me wait a little more. Not happily, but I don't want to be that guy "why aren't you fixing my truck while you're in the hospital?!?!"

A couple of weeks ago I had my newly repaired truck in for some last repairs and an inspection by a guy that I take stuff to because he has a rack and he is meticulous. As I rolled up to see how things were going, he opened the garage door to roll my truck out and said he couldn't finish... he was going to the hospital because he was bleeding from his butt. I offered to drive him, but he said his wife was all ready to go.
Ended up that he had a foot of colon removed.
Pretty weird, but he looks good now and has been out walking to get back into shape.

Far as I know, just him and his wife. He might have an assistant, as there is a pic from a year ago with one, but they don't spend a lot of time on their FB presence or web; just enough to let you know about the bizniss. I'm hoping for a quick recovery, and then some news. I care more about news, than actual being done. We still have the RAV4, but it's not Little Big Red!

Well, I said I was gonna do yard work, so I did some. Without spoiling everything, I took all the mulch out of the orchard, and then showered and went to Lowe's. But, since I only got the RAV4, projects are going to take more than one trip.

    Good Morning Folks.
Sun is shining this morning but the temperature is still chilly for May. Who got Mother Nature Mad? Need to get warmer for shorts and Flip-flops.
I go tomorrow to see the knee surgeon about my left knee. To much damage from my youth and now it has returned to bite me in the butt. The adage I am reminded of is "To be old and wise, you must be young and Foolish".
Have a great day folks and as always, be safe.

Kurt: I hate it when I have to make multiple trips to Lowes for a single project. The store is just so big even when you know where you have to go to pick up the part.

Ken: Best of luck with the knee. So many good memories in this thread, so many of us were young and foolish. ;):bananadance:

Thursday is music lesson day so my morning is taken up. Going to see what I need to replace one of the under the counter Puck LED lights after that. Then replace a string of canopy lights that got wet and stopped working. Water resistant does not mean water proof. One of the control boxes came undone and was exposed to the rain.

    Good Morning Everyone.

State Farm covered most of the roof. 65-year shingles were installed 13 years ago (expensive roof, high quality) but we are seeing more pieces in the yard. Less depreciation, but still mostly covered.

Hail damage to my truck. Just need to get it in, about $1500 (less than I thought) Paintless Dent Repair (PDR). RSI cap is too heavy gauge for PDR so replacement paid out ($3500).

The Rago battery box, Redac DCDC charger, and few more electrical goodies arrived. LiIon batteries are much less weight, but I have space under the hood for a group 34 battery. Deep Cycle Marine battery so I have power for cooler and CPAP.

Need to hit Home Depot before it gets too warm. Photo for Susan.

    Good morning all plus Susan,

Ken Don't be afraid of having a knee replacement surgery. I had both of mine done in 2018. The hardest part is the physical therapy after surgery. It is the hamstring muscle which shortens up and then has to be stretched. So I hope all of it goes well. I have another day of school here for the grand kids Then they head back to Canada tomorrow. It has been a good time. Someone could make lots of money if they could slow time down. They(all 6) of them had to get a negative covid test 72 hours before they can enter Canada. Then when they get home they have to quarentine foe 14 days. Our son (the kids dad) has to also quartine foe 14 days because he lives with them. He can't be in the same house as the kids and his wife so they have a tent . He will be staying in the garage. So be thankful we are not the same as Canada.
All have a healthy, wealthy day and God bless the USA!
    Russ

:pccoffee: Happy fourth Friday Porchies! Lovely, sunny day on tap here, so I think I will move some rocks and plant some seeds. And hope I hear something...:fingerscrossed:

Tom: NORMALLY, I'd get enough for two projects in the truck! Then, I don't have to stop and run to the store if I planned right (but there's always something...) With the RAV, it was 7 pavers and 2 bags of sand and some stuff. Yesterday was 6 bags of rocks and 2 bags of stones. That's one load for LBR, with room for more!

Good Morning from Monkey Mountain
Hope the Doc appt goes well. My friend Randy is recovering from knee replacement procedure now. As pops said, the PT seems the toughest part, but he has no regrets so far.
... "shorts and flip flops" - yep, I still wanna be like Ken. ;)

indeed it does not...interesting how that gets misinterpreted.

Have a great day all. Piglet watch continues on the mtn. :)

Thanks Tom. I'll know more after the visit.

Thanks for the thoughts Russ. I will see what the vet says about surgery. I know I have ACL and Meniscus issues - how severe I don't know but I will find out. Glad you have enjoyed having the Grand kids with you. It's just a shame the family has to go through all the testing and quarentining just to go home :(. Hopefully things will open up soon and it will be easier for visits. Thanks again.

Thanks Rob. Uniform of the Day when the weather is warmer :D:thumbsup:.
Have a good one Gal and Guys (Susan, don't want to get a :smack: for forgetting you.)

Good morning porchies. Beautiful day here in N. California, sunshine and mid 80’s. Not much planned today other than helping she who must be obeyed neatin up the house. We are having neighbors/friends over for dinner and cocktails/wine. So nice to be getting back to some kind of normalcy. All who are coming over have been vaccinated and no (censored)masks allowed. Hope I remember how to be a sociable human being.

Ken - good luck with the doc appointment. I know lots of people who have had knee surgery/replacement and all have done great. And every single one said the key to recovery is the post surgical rehab and exercise. They say it tough and you really have to work at it but all feel great.

    Morning all:
Another good luck with the knee surgery Ken, like others are saying, everyone I ever talked to who had it done said the therapy was worse than the operation, but they were all glad they had it done.

FINALLY got on the lake last night, the cold front shut the walleyes down but we did manage to catch two which is better than getting skunked, and of course we also caught 3 stripers plus a bonus smallmouth bass.
