Fuel pump recall on the way

Just had my 2019 TRD OR short bed completed. It was for an oil change, tire rotation and the recall. They asked me to bring it in with as low fuel as possible so I came in with 20 miles left on the range meter. They dropped the fuel tank to do the recall, not remove the bed. Took all of 3 hours from the moment I dropped the truck off to complete everything.

They must have done quite a few already and knocked it out quick. I haven't noticed any difference though in drivability. Didn't have issues prior anyways.

This was at Toyota of Pasadena in LA. Quick and easy process over there.

 

99.9% of people won’t notice anything before or after.

 

Mine was done yesterday. I had a 10:00 appointment and dropped it off at 9:10. It was heading back to their service bay by 9:15 (although that doesn't mean they were going to start on then). Service manager said it should take about four and a half hours, I got a call that it was done at 2:40. There was never any mention about gas tank level but it had just over half a tank.

Like others have said, no noticeable change on the drive home but I wasn't having any issues before, either.

 

Any 21’s have this recall done?

 

No not affected.

 

I could be wrong, but I thought the 21's came from the factory with the new fuel pump.

I received my first notice with the no remedy wording maybe 6 months ago. About three weeks ago I got the letter to schedule for the recall. Called this morning, they said that they had to order the pump but that it usually takes 2-3 days. Scheduled for Thursday unless the pump doesn’t come in, asked that I have no more than 1/4 tank of gas and total time should be around 2 hours. All completed from underneath, update to follow.

 

I finally got my 2019 TRD Off Road 4X4 LB done a couple weeks ago. It had been about 5 months since the notification. The dealership got it done quickly - maybe 3 hours. So far no issues.

 

After getting it replaced and the recall taken care of, the peace of mind is totally worth getting off my butt and taking care of this what felt like chore.

 

FINALLY got my remedy notice. Thank goodness truck did not stall out again.......

Headed to Toy of B'ham next Thursday.

Yup, but there’s no change in drivability.

 

Got mine done Monday. Dropped it off at 8 am and was told it would take all day so I got to drive a 2021 SR5. The two biggest things I noticed with the 2021 were.
1: the interior was hideous dark seats with red stitching, dark dash, red on the doors and dash, silver accents on the cup holder and radio surround, chrome around the ac vents, and then the A and B pillars as well as the head liner were an off white color. It was a lot going on in a small space.

2: The power drivers seat is a game changer. If anyone knows how to retro fit for older models that is my next mod!

 

Seat jackers are money

 

That's the problem, they are lots of money for a lump of metal. But a lot of money for a 10 way power seat I could handle.... Maybe.

 

I'm 6' 2" and the seat jackers solved my problem

 

Didn't think that I had a fuel pump problem on my 2018....wrong. Under "pedal to the floor" acceleration", my truck had a "funky surging". Thought it was the POS engine/transmission combination....wrong. The new fuel pump resolved this problem.

 

I'm getting mine done on the 13th, along with 20k service. No idea how long it will take them.

 

I have an appointment next week to get my fuel pump fixed. They said ~ 4 hrs, 1/4 tank or less... They asked if I wanted a rental, I said yes...

I already had T-SB-0092-20: ECU cal # to: 04B81 done. This update was great improvement...!!!

I'm not expecting to notice any differences after the fuel pump is fixed...
