    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

For real though, meet up with John. He's a totally righteous dude. He's definately a great contact to have moving to that area.

    Yes, we hunt D6

Last year, we didn't hunt because of the Covid bullshit and then the fires.

We've been blanked the last several years. We've caught a glimpse of some shootable bucks every year, but couldn't bring it together for one reason or another.

Lot's of Mt Lions in the area we hunt now. And the deer are few and far between. I think I have enough points to get an X12 tag this year (over the Summit from D6). I think I'm going to put in for it. I have done absolutely zero scouting of X12. It would just be a roll of the dice.

Bald mountain is tons of fun. I went out there with @TOP TACO @otis24 and others 2 or 3 (non-pademic) years ago. Another great spot close by is Voyager Rock campground at Courtright Reservoir. Right at the Dusey. We hiked a few miles of the trail from Courtright. That shit's fo real.

@theesotericone , we enjoyed our time running up 395 from DV thanks to the Owen's Valley thread. Schats deli in Bishop is legit.

Glad you had a good time. There's a lifetime's worth of exploring in this valley.

No doubt we will be back soon. Such amazing country, much better than driving back up I-5 or Hwy 99.

@Uphillshunter I can maybe do Sat June 12th. If so I may head up on Fri June 11 in the afternoon and just camp for the night right off of 4N12 near the beginning of the Eagle Peak trail 5N74/19EV114

Gaia GPS... although right now they are kind of frustrating me. I just got an email receipt yesterday that my Premium Membership was auto renewed. And now, today, a bunch of the layers I use are locked and it says I need to upgrade to Premium to use them. (seems like this same damn thing happened last year too)

I use Avenza and download the USGS topo maps from within the app. I also use Google Earth to find possible camp sites. I then export my waypoints to KMZ and import them into Avenza. I have also used Outly, OsmAnd Maps, and Natural Atlas which all let you download a portion of the maps for offline use for free. A lot of people use OnX offroad but that is a subscription and I'm cheap.
