Haha wtf, is he on glue? Even with the rebuild kits provided you shouldn't be paying more than $150-200.

This is true, but the varying levels of management and micromanagement make a huge difference.

Old boss - do this thing, and then i'm going to randomly drop in with new requirements, and i refuse to plan a project.

New boss - lets set some objectives for you for the next year, annnnd....GO.

I work more hours than I did before, but the autonomy and the complete lack of micromanagement makes the new job 10000x better.

No, total. Keep in mind I only paid $70 per shock with the rebuild kit provided. The kits are $20 each, so with labor at the rate I got it, you shouldn't pay more than $180 for both.

Probably shoulda got other quotes, but I just wanted it done.

Yeah I'm just giving him a hard time. And thanking myself for turning down any opportunity that would put me in the corporate world

Why don't you call and ask that shop I used, he told me they take stuff from all over the country.

    Shipping would kill it.

Tmff charges 150$ per shock, add in shipping it’d be about the same

It would - but if you're desperate I definitely recommend those guys. They're really great.

He has a big ass shop but does the shock rebuilding out a trailer, he goes to race tracks and track events to rebuild peoples shocks remotely.

I’m not desperate, I left the shocks with the dude I’m talking about.

see what he ends up saying it’ll cost.

even at $600, if they’re good as new, minus coils, I’m still ahead
