    This and that...
You should start a thread called "37 Inches of Stupidity." You know, for documentation purposes.

What makes the on road performance suck? I have around 20k of street miles with my 37’s. They roll perfectly smooth even with headlocks, I can do 75-80 on the freeway. No real difference between 35’s to 37’s. Hell even 33’s handled about the same.

    Gas mileage sucks of course.

My second gen doesnt have the extra transmission gear so highway driving its either screaming at 3000rpms or i drive 65mph everywhere, i often visit utah and the speed limit is 80 so it sucks getting passed by semis.
I also always had play in the steering wheel and if you actually wheel stuff where you need 37s you will go through alot of inner tie rods to get rid of the steering play. Is daily driving 37s doable? Yes, absolutely, but maintenance goes up and its not as nice as driving a regular car, bigger pickup or even a ford raptor.

Driving 20k miles around the city or from town to town is easy, go out and do a 2000 mile road trip and wheel some hard trails in between. Youll most likely be jumping out of that truck and parking it for the next week before you want to drive it again.
Maybe its just my pos truck, but my opinion is that your not going to daily drive your tacoma on 37s and put it on hard trails where you will greatly benefit from having a 37 over a 35.

Last time I drove mine to an event I blew up my steering rack. But I think I've gotten all the bugs worked out since the hydro swap so I won't mind driving it 5hrs on a trip. Especially if it's a huge event like Appalachian toyota round up.

Shit! No i wasnt thinking about the camera at that time.

It was a stupid spot, i was sitting on trans crossmember and had a rock behind my diff, the front pass was slowly climbing. Right before it went i was saying to myself i need to let out as its alot od skinny pedal being used and feels bound up.
Oh well, time for an fj tube.
I watched 5 rigs walk through the spot i blew it up at.

Drove the truck today to see what rpm I ran at 70. Turns out it's 2300 with 4.56 and the 5speed auto.

What rpm are you guys getting with 4.88 and 5.29?

Is that corrected speed I typically run GPS when I highway travel. (60mph on dash is 70 actual mph)

    Got it. That makes sense.

I’ve done a bunch of 800-900 mile trips from UT to CA but no 2k trips in one go. Mine did fine. But...I don’t really do any hardcore wheeling so I think that’s why I don’t mind 37’s on a daily.

But then again I’ve daily driven a buggy on 39’s so my opinion on a DD is probably a lot different than others. :D

My stuff just shipped so I should have it at the end of the week.

    Current: BFG KM3 315/75r16, 16x8 5.1” BS / -10mm OS. Tire measures about 34-34.4” depending on psi

New: Nitto Terra Grappler G2 37x12.5r17, 17x8.5 4.0” BS / -18mm OS. Nitto says the tire measures about 36.6”

With that being said, what kind of seam sealer did you guys use?

I dunno how you guys are squeezing 37's in. I'm rubbing like a sumbitch on 35's. Gotta do a lot more trimming before I try and taker her wheelin
