He always says, "clean livin'" or, "never a harsh word between them". Ha! He just had is 94th birthday and he has a stack of "canned" replies to that question! Mom will be '94 this month as well.

 

WOW. God Bless them both Mike. 94 years old each and married for 73 years is awesome. Give them my best wishes and prayers for many more together.

 

Cinco de Mayo!!! So naturally I’m celebrating with a Reuben from Hershel’s at Reading Terminal Market.

 

Hershels has really good sandwiches. Tukey on rye with provolone is my favorite. Now I'm hungry. Enjoy.

Nope. It didn't survive the FedEx handlers...

 

I got one like that before. Thank god it was an ugly stik and survived. I've had a couple G Loomis, St Croix and Fenwick rods delivered and was glad they were in the tough cardboard tubes

 

So an employee who gets woke up at 1 am is safer ... or alternately a mad employee is more alert.

 

Where did you buy it from? The one I got that was in a box like that was from Bass pro. Just can't see how they think it's gonna survive when it's packed like that. I hope it's not to much if a pain for you to get a replacement

 

This was a Penn Battle III and it was snapped just below the 2nd ferrule.


The other rod I ordered came in hard cardboard tube.
This box had 2 distinct footprints on it.

This was from Cabela's/Bass Pro.

 

Fed Ex. They are the worse. Let the seller send you another for free. I guess Fed Ex must work for cheap because they just cost the seller (or themselves) a fishing rod.

 

Another one is already en route.

So much gloom & doom in the world we tend to get caught up in. Then things like this come along to remind you what the whole point of being here is -- awesome story, thank you for sharing with us!

 

That sucks. Just don't see when they send it out in a box like that thinking it'll be good. Nice rod I think a buddy of mine has a Penn Battle he use for fluke/flounder. I hope they make it right for you and send it in a tube next time

37 degrees and foggy. Can I get my grass cutting in? I'll walk the dog after I put my grandson on the school bus and try about 10 a.m. The thing is, it is supposed to rain tomorrow - again- so I don't know if Saturday will be any better. That's springtime in western PA.
