My boys were not amused this morning when I woke them up. Paybacks from 3am this morning and they wanted in the garage.

Hair ties and rubber bands have to be kept under lock and key at our house, Harley will eat them in a blink of an eye. He's even dug them out of my wife's closed purse before.

Speaking of Harley, took him in for a check up today as well as to get his sneezing issue checked out, he's been sneezing off and on for a couple days.

Apparently he's got an ear infection, they want to run scans for the sneezing to the tune of $700 just for diagnosis. He only sneezed once this morning so I think I'm going to hold off on that unless it picks up again.

Do you guys do pet insurance for your cats? I've always heard (mostly) that it's not worth it, that they turn down everything. But a few people are telling me they swear by it. I'm starting to think I should get it for him, especially now that he's getting up there in age (10).

Vet bills are so insane. When my wife's cat Mo had to be put down last year, it was after 2 days of emergency hospital visit stay and tests, plus the drugs to put him to sleep. She was out about $3k all in all.

We’ve never had pet insurance but I’ve known a couple of people who have. Their experiences were mostly bad. Basically any and every excuse to deny a claim. Not worth the aggravation and frustration to me. About 2 months ago Suki started sneezing and after the 2nd day we really started paying attention to the fact it was happening. After the 3rd day she was sleeping on my wife’s pillow and I heard he sneezing. I walked in a little later and there was a blade of grass that was covered with mucous on the pillow. No more sneezing after that. We assumed that when she was grazing on the front lawn somehow she got that piece of grass shoved up her nose. Definitely kinda random. Glad it wasn’t something worse and that she just sneezed it out.

Apparently some like to watch tv closer than others. I remember my mom told me never to sit too close to the tv for fear of hurting my vision, obviously Pancake is not worried.

so I lucked out in a way...years ago, I dated a Veterenarian...for like 13 years. We were gonna get married etc. etc.

then she had a "breakdown" of sorts, and just up and left me one night. Disappeared. About 6 months later, I got a call from her being very apologetic etc etc (never mind that it sent me into a 7 year serious struggle with depression), and trying to explain what happened. So long story short, she promised to pay my Vet bills no matter what for the rest of my life. To this day - and it is now 15 years since the breakup - I send her any Vet bill we have, and she pays it.

She currently lives in Australia and works on some of the remote and large farms around the country...she flies herself in to remote locations to work on sick animals. I think the gvt also pays her to help with injured animals in remote locations on nature reserves...shhe does pretty well
