Hey I kept the one that got knocked off on the trails at Moab, I sent you a brand new one :luvya:

Another reason I'm looking forward to a new LCA is that I can finally attach the bumpstop on the right way lol

No, you're right, it stayed on...though we had to chase it once or twice

Seems both you and Jimmie had the same capture nut issue.

Yeah it's just tack welded in there I think, snaps off easily

After the second time it came off, I figured I'd just try running without it to save us the headache of having to stop while I zip tied it back on

After going down a couple ledges on Fins N Things sans bump stop I quickly changed my mind, that was not a good feeling

You can do what I'm going to do and drill the hole slightly larger then install a pop nut.. like a rivet but with threads.

This is an example but the wrong size. I need to order the metric ones20210506_121856.jpg

    Can only imagine.

I had the Duro's in the rear, and remember thinking 'this is going to hurt' when I watched Todd fall off some steps.

But when it was our turn to go, the drop was soft as hell.

Don't even remember Danny saying anything bad at all about the ride the entire time.

Man I'm learning all kinds of cool ways (and names) to use rivnuts these past couple days haha

Yeah I had originally thought about doing something like that, drill a hole big enough for a long socket and maybe just put a nut on the end of it. But I need to replace that LCA now anyway to hopefully correct my alignment issue

The JB weld works surprisingly well, the only reason it came off in Moab was because the shop that did my LCA bushings knocked it off and I didn't notice until we left for Moab, so I used one of Nelsons and zip tied it on. No surprise there, zip ties do not work well to hold a bump stop on lol.

The JB weld works because the bump strikes the plate in the vertical up/down motion, but if something hits it from the side it comes off easily.

I was just thinking of him yesterday too.

I know someone had his phone number and reached out, but wasn't sure if he wanted to remain private or not.

That was my plan as well but I'm actually going to get a 20' shipping container instead. About 3K delivered.
