This is 0.4% interest in addition to the bonus. I think my Citi is 0.5% at the moment too.

so you’re getting 0.65% for the year. Simplified I’m sure it’s closer to like 0.6578 or some shit but whatever.

Cool beans. You do you I don’t care. I don’t chase rewards on bank accounts anymore, I used to follow a Reddit about chasing rewards called churning I think. I adapted some stuff but I also enjoy the simplicity of not hunting. I just have my one card and license in a phone case with me. When I go out down city for example I can call an Uber and get to and from the bar, get IDd and pay all just with my phone.

anyway I’m off topic here. Hope this recent weather has gotten my clover jump started. The sections I planted last year are going awesome. I’m not setting up the sprinklers yet so far so hopefully this works out.

I keep four cards on me and what I'm buying determines the card I use. I average about 3% back between those and stuff I have on autopay on another card that I don't carry. At the end of 2019 I had over $700 piled up (all older cards, so just from the percentages back with no bonuses) and it paid for the dryer when I bought new laundry appliances. Last year I mostly used it as it accrued which makes it less fun not having a big chunk at the end. I figure $700-$750 a year is worth the extra 10 minutes a month I spend paying multiple cards off (and the mental time to keep track of which cards to use). It is definitely not something most people would want to be bothered with. You probably have a happy medium between my obsessive tendencies and someone who just uses a debit card and gets nothing for it.

This weather has made my lawn grow ridiculously fast, but I never seem to get a day when it's not raining to mow it. I really need it dry because otherwise the slopes are impossible.

Not really; usually if it wanders far enough it just means that there's another new topic.

And then it falls into a conversation about Fords

Not long ago, I was the debit card user, finally got sick of paying credit card prices and hearing about every one getting these dam rewards, so I finally went with a card that we use for everything. Couple times a year I get to use my point to pay off 100 bucks on my bill. Still rather credit cards were not such a big part of our economy.

I did out the maths and even if I hunted my rewards per quarter I ended up net loss compared to 1.5% across the board because the extra 1.5% didn’t make up for the 1% I saw on everything else in that timeframe.

so I chose the best card for my spending habits and have just been using that across the board. :notsure:

I set my rewards to auto redeem every 50 bucks just for statement balance.

I put everything on my card. I pay it in full each month, though. Just means I get rewards on everything I do.

Can anybody hear fam up a super strong steel version of our spare tire crank tool? I somehow snapped mine trying to lower my spare down. It worked fine and putting it up last week, so I have no idea what's wrong.

I'm curious to see what's going to happen to landlords in this time. Some are getting their butts kicked with little or no rental income and bought a house based on having that.

I think housing is gonna crash, but there’s a reason bill gates owns all that farm land.

I wouldn’t buy a house with your money right now. I would buy a 100 acres of nice land thats priced right.

Cool beans! You in the New England area still? I don't have a specific artist in mind. I know some do charity work for breast cancer survivors, I'd like to support one who does that. I;ve gotten some recommendations locally though.

Right -- but that doesn't matter if you have nowhere to live

I've said it before - we bought our house in 2017, even THEN we lucked out in terms of the house and transactions itself, let alone NOW. We want to move to Austin but the benefits - the property itself, location, proximity to family, and the financial side of it -- holy balls, we're in the sweet spot where we are now.

Right I guess in my case, I have a house and stuff, I am looking at it as a safe long term investment. I would only buy in my town with super low taxes, which make the carrying costs irrelevant. Maybe log it, lease it to hunters or farmers for hay etc... It has to be the right set up, there are other options for other scenarios I'm sure would be better.

Austin is probably crazy with pricing, its hot in the streets these days.

Austin is insane. You pay property taxes based on appraisal values too so a bunch of people bought normal houses that are now worth a million +. People forced to sell because they can’t afford the tax bill in a house they bought responsibly. Sucks.

    Cool beans.

haha yeah I saw them. Just bustin balls.
