    Hey all,

bought my 08 reg cab prerunner certified last month and within the first week put on a camburg spindle lift, camburg uca and bilstein 5100 all around with a 2" block in the rear with 17x9 Racelines and 33's. Since I am still under warranty will the dealer give me a hard time with the rear leaf tsb? Does the truck have to be stock for them to do the work?

Brother I have a brand new, completely stock Taco and I went through hell and back to get them to do the TSB. All I can say is do your research, walk in there with the print-out for the TSB, use the terms "harsh ride" and "unsafe" as needed, keep your cool, and remain courteous. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all you'd be looking for is the lead pack out of the deal, correct? If you can find a good aftermarket price, I'd almost rather go that route just to avoid being talked down to/lied to by the stealership.

Just know that they're going to use every piece of that lift against you to try to get out of doing it.

Depends on how much you enjoy going to the dealership attempting to get something for free.

I'd give it a whirl, but a $80 AAL gets rid of the blocks in back and gives you the height you're after.

$80 to avoid a pissing contest with a service advisor seems like loot well spent, if that's what it comes to.

IIRC- Reg Cabs are not eligible for the TSB. On top of that they can very easily say that your block lift is the reason you ride is harsh (and a harsh ride is the complaint that triggers the TSB work.)

You have a 2011- It's not officially included in the TSB...You aren't doing anything that hasn't been done before. It takes complaints to get the paperwork updated...That's the way it goes.

And a pissing match it will be.

OP- Read up on the TSB and make sure your truck is covered under it- because rolling up on a dealership looking for something for nothing and using the TSB as a justification for it makes you look silly if the TSB doesn't really apply.

    Good luck either way.

Got it done yesterday, the TSB does in fact now cover 2011's.

    Enough of us complained evidently...

That is does. First I'd seen of that update- It's only 16 days old.

I'll see about moving it into the right spot!! Thanks for the info.

(and for the OP-That updated TSB still only specifies AC and DC trucks....No reg cabs.)

just got my truck back today from having the spring tsb done. i made the appointment online having never talked to anyone on the phone. dropped my car off before they opened and described the problem i was having in the space provided on the drop off sheet. and later in the day they called and told me they had already ordered me the new leaf packs and they would be installed the next day. this was all done never having talked to a person directly.

keep in mind this is the dealer i bought my 2010 dc sport from 6 months ago. i also made it a point to mention in my problem description that there was a safety concern with the springs. dont know if it helped any but that was how it turned out for me. pretty painless.
