That is a great point and i did not pay attention to diameter. Just found some heavy duty 1/2 inch Hose in my garage, not sure what it’s from but it says 350 psi working load. It will fit the union perfectly but I may have to trim down the flange on the vent nipple or ream out the hose a bit to make it work.

As long as it fits and seals you’re fine.

Putting mine in the fuel door like the 1st Gen pic below.

I think you have more options such as cubby hole in your bed or tailight area?

    Speaking of rear breathers...
@Emanresu had a fantastic looking set up for the front breathers, running a twin ARB Breather kit. Though he mentioned there was 5 or so hoses he had to attach, but what exactly are those hoses connecting to? i know there are breathers to the auto trans, engine, front diff, transfer case, and anything else i'm missing? I'm fairly certain all it would need to be is an extention up, wouldn't need to plumb it all the way to the source which might be overkill?

anyways the kit itself is $100 from 4WP and since i anticipate a lot of water at Ardbeg whenever the next time we go is, i might as well take a look into it since we're on the subject.

edit - @llamasmurf followed the snow ban too!

I bought the same union and vent like a month ago, went into the store when things we're still open and my dumb ass got 1/4" hose...way too big now I keep forgetting to get a new hose

Take a heat gun to the hose. Once its been warmed up it might expand enough for you to be able to insert the vent without reaming out the hose.

There seems to be mixed info on factory breathers for everything xfer case and forward. My brief searching revealed that everything up front already has factory breathers that are just below brake booster level on the firewall already? This lead me to believe that if your not going more than wheel deep then only rear breather is required?

well figured to bring the idea up as Ardbeg can get pretty deep at some points (at least south loop) and i know the factory breather valves are above some certain point, i just don't remember what that point is and if it'd be worth doing.

I'm not planning on fjording the grand river, just seeing what's out there

That’s a great tip, thank you. I think I will file down the flange on the nipple combined with heat to slip the vent in the hose.
