air deflector on trd sport model

Has anyone removed the air deflector from under the bumper on the trd sport model? Does it look same as the off road model after, or are there other differences? Pics would be great.

 

Yes tons. Looks just like the OR. Most agree it looks better and only a few bolts for removal

11 bolts to remove and about 1 MPG loss.

 

How much does it affect fuel mileage, if any at all?

 

zero percent. If it did it wouldn't have the same mpg on the window sticker.

 

It should be the very first MOD you do when you get the truck home.

Hell I did it at the dealership lol.

 

Depends on your needs.

I kept mine on since I drive roughly 80 miles a day, all highway. I know the truck isn't prius status on fuel saving, but I'll squeeze whatever I can to get better gas mileage.

 

I don’t do fist mods.

I’m pretty sure it’s the way that subclasses are grouped together for mileage with the EPA that affects the window sticker’s sameness. A few threads have gotten into this idea.

 

The "chinstrap" came off within 3 days after I got my truck. (Had to make room for the Demon brackets and shackles.)

Something smelled fisty.

 

Removed it after about a month. Somehow while I was turning the tire caught it and made a horrible noise. Don't regret removing it. Looks a lot better without.

 

I removed the air dam and mud flaps within days of taking delivery. No ragrets!

 

Simple to remove. Truck does look much better without it (IMO). I put a OEM Pro Skid Plate (Painted Black) along with Demon brackets for the shackles.
