Are you saying like increase in loudness in cab or like the actual trans itself is louder? The trans noise is most likely from the hole you cut in the floor lol. Mine was pretty loud as well. I wrapped the whole floor above and below tcase in sound deadening mat and it helped a ton.

Both? Neither? I hear more gear noise now when driving around and it seems to be coming through the shifter. It's similar to when I used to have a solid shifter. My floor is sealed up really well, also with sound deadener.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
I think that’s just the nature of the beast. With the hole cut we hear the lower gears more. FWIW, I doubled up the sound deadening and it’s better.

Sound deadener, just turn the radio up! My cab sounded like a wood chipper at highway speeds until I finally put the leather boot back on, never really bothered me that much lol

 :rofl: The sound of tube doors while going through the Baltimore tunnel next to a big rig is something everyone should experience.

Well my dumbass didnt remember to put the magnet back in the bottom of the case after splitting it, so instead of splitting it again, i swapped out the drain plug for a magnetic one made for the transmission. Part number 90341-18057 if anyone else is interested. It probably wont work as well since it isnt on the very bottom like the original magnet but it should be better than nothing and you can actually clean this one during oil changes

Oh I’ve experienced something very similar. Half doors in the HRBT (which is a two lane underwater tunnel) next to a semi. It’s SO FUCKING LOUD. Haven’t ran the doors since lol

Are you talking about the magnet near the oil pickup? Mine had barely anything on it after 215k miles so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Definitely not worth opening the case again, not IMO. Especially not if the case is already mounted on the truck.

Now if I could just get my upholstery guy to get my shift boot done I could finish mounting my center console! Lol

Call this guy up, you’ll have the most unique looking shift boot/console in America that’s for sure.

Crap, so I with a RA60F putting an automatic FJ case in need to buy the FJ Automatic transmission extension housing/seal holder? Anything else? This is a new discovery to me, part number(s)?

Ah the elusive access cab 5' bed.

Also the snaps for what I assume is a rain/guard/sheet/window on your cut doors is genius.
