Someone needs a new ball!

 

My neighbor’s English Cream Retriever had his first birthday on the 22nd, and he got a special dog cake; Porter got to have some today...

 

Porter and Clover!

 

Porter has known Cooper since they met at a Cars and Coffee last year (Cooper is the "Sheepadoodle" to Porter's right), and they are like best friends; These pictures were all taken at last Saturday's Cars and Coffee in Warrington. That black and white dog in the photos is a Springer Spaniel named Max, who as you can see is being very friendly to Porter. All of a sudden, right after I took the pictures, he decided he didn't like Porter for whatever reason and snapped at him; This prompted his owner to pull him away. Cooper's owner and myself believe that Max got jealous of Porter hanging out with Cooper; The very next day at another Cars and Coffee at Peddler's Village, the same guy approached me and Porter without even asking, in an attempt introduce our two dogs. Apparently he didn't recognize Porter, or me...?

Anyway, I asked a question I already knew the answer to; "Is that dog named Max?" The owner said yes, and I'm like "He snapped at at Porter for no reason yesterday..."

He got the message and pulled Max away; Max is well-known among attendees at these Cars and Coffee events to be very friendly to both people and dogs, but for whatever reason he doesn't like Porter and I wasn't about to have a repeat performance!

 

And Porter made a new friend at the Warrington Cars and Coffee (we also saw Cooper again)...

I forget the other Lab's name, but she's female and also an English Lab; Porter, besides being male (and by default, larger), is also an American Lab...

Males are always bigger than females in any species and breed, but if you look you will likely notice that Porter is thinner and leaner than his new friend; English Labs are always stockier than Americans with broader heads, among other notable traits...



Also, Cooper's owner has a Shelby Cobra replica that he brings to these shows, and Cooper rides in it; When Cooper was an overly energetic puppy, his owner taped off the edges around the Cobra's cockpit to keep him from scratching the paint!

 

The pictures above were taken (obviously in the truck) after spending several hours at Peddler's Village for both the Cars and Coffee last Sunday and just wandering around (This was the same trip where I ended up buying the exotic jerky, of the snake and turtle variety); This picture was taken not long after I arrived at the show...




Yeah, I know that by my standards it's not a "real" Rolls-Royce (specifically, it's a 2012 Ghost with 8,800 original miles) but Porter matched car perfectly so I just had to get a picture of him in front of it; What still amazes me is that I was able to get him to sit still long enough for me to take the picture!

 

Yet another friend Porter made at yet another cruise night; This picture is from April 25th, 2021...

 

72 pounds now; He was 34 pounds when we got him last March!

My friend and neighbor who installed the backup camera and custom stereo in my truck back in 2016 lost his dog about a yea taco; He and his wife decided to surprise their daughter with a Poodle puppy named Jemma last Christmas! Jemma is currently 8 months old and this was not her first time meeting Porter, but it definitely ended up her first time seriously playing with him!
