try a windows repair. DLL issues can creep in unexpectedly and cause hiccups.

Sounds more like a PSU issue to me. When you start the game power usage spikes as the CPU and GPU ramp up. The lack of an error message eliminates a software issue and makes it unlikely to be a driver problem with the GPU. Do you have a spare PSU to swap in and try.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Yes I think it's a power supply as well, I had the same thing happen to me. I would make it into game and play like 15 minutes and then my computer would restart

I tried Ubiquiti stuff once....never again. Their "adoption" system to adopt devices to your account/network is horrendous. Terrible idea and even more terribly executed. To each their own, and maybe its been improved upon but it was a nightmare experience that has turned me off forever. And that you have to purchase a stupid cloud key dongle to do any remote management is a joke. ITS A NETWORKED DEVICE. Why a silly external dongle is required is absolutely beyond me.

Don't have a spare psu but it's basically brand new. But I can do a windows repair and check that

My gut tells me even though the power supply is new that you got a bad one. Especially as someone already said the fact that you don't get any error messages.

    Yeah.
Yeah, you can can try a repair, or do a full removal and reinstall of graphics drivers, but I think the PSU is the likely culprit. That, or some piece of hardware (graphics card or mainboard/CPU) is pulling a lot more than it should causing it to try and protect itself.

Just found OCBASE/OCCT with a quick google. I guess it has a PSU stress test you can run, maybe help to narrow it down to the PSU? Take the GPU/CPU a bit more out of the equation as far as testing goes.

    Two questions:

What PSU is it? Not all are created equally.

What wattage and what components? The 30 series is notorious for crazy high power spikes. I've seen lots of 650/700 watt PSUs trigger OCP with a 3080 or 3090 hooked up to them.

    enough to have fun
I was sort of put off of EKWB after seeing some gnar GPU erosion - this one isn't bad, but I can't find the post that really wigged me out. https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooli...going_on_with_my_gpu_block_from_ekwb_the_blu/

I will say, it's hard to beat Corsair's Hydro X Series XD5 RGB Pump/Reservoir for the price. RGB, tons of ports, temp sensor, all in one with a d5 pump? unless I find a better value I'll likely snag one.

Also, take what I say with a grain of salt, as I'm just getting into water cooling and I'll be using EK for their ZMT soft lines. I'm a fan of the black lines with black chrome XSPC fittings.

What is your experience with Alphacool and Heatkiller? I'm using them for my GPU and CPU respectively. Are there any American manufacturers of water cooling parts besides corsair?

It's the nickel plating coming off. EKWB loves to plate their copper with nickel, which isn't the strongest bond. Most of the posts admit somewhere that they used an aluminum radiator somewhere in the loop and, even with great coolant, you're going to get some corrosion with that combination of factors. It looks nasty but it actually won't hurt anything. Absolute worst that could happen would be exposing the copper, which won't corrode as fast as the nickel.

What makes it worse is these pastel colours. I always go clear. I'm not posting my rig on reddit nor do I do super crazy hard or metal tube builds for show where the colour is something necessary. Any solid coloured fluid has colloids in it, which will act like sandpaper over time especially on loops with high flow speeds (which is desirable for cooling). Check out Jayz videos on liquid cooling as well. He explains the problem with pastel fluids and even shows a few blocks he has that are older. They all have pitting on some level from the fluid. What's even worse is what they do to pumps. If you leave your pump on overnight it will fail within three years with a pastel fluid, I guarantee that.

I used EK soft tube. It's the bestest in terms of durability. I went with their Quantum fittings. They're really easy to work with and look fine IMHO.

People also wonder why cheaper AIOs tend to fail after 2-3 years. Corsairs low-mid tier stuff is famous for this. It's because in order to get the integrated bare copper block and cheap chinesium aluminum radiator to not eat each other, they use a really potent premix coolant. The stuff is more chemical than water. Which is why the pumps fail, the stuff might be good for the metal but it's hard on the rubber seals.

My two cents, only use EK premix in your loops and, if you can, stick to the non-solid colours. If you must have the solid colours than do a drain and fill every 6 months to keep the fluid from breaking down too far.

Same, I always go for performance over aesthetics. No RGBs, solid colored soft tubes, no coloring to my coolant. I’m not trying to impress Reddit, I just want a performant computer.

I have some rgbs, but it’s getting impossible to escape them now. Mobo, 3090, and the ram I chose didnt really present me with another option. My EK block doesn’t have them though.

Now that I have an ikea standing desk and actually see the computer in the room, I wouldn’t mind having solid color hard tubing to make it look better though.
