No, that one is “send it - beat it - fix it later” more of a small run with only capable trucks

Lol, The guy who lives behind me works for the Railroad. It's either dead quiet or he's beatin' the livin' daylights out of his Drums. Yup, sleepin' or foot to the floor. Reminds me of the Oil Patch kinda.

Maybe 4 or so for me but I’ll likely retire & go freelance consultant for a couple before I go full “pack it in”.

And if you need 4 breathers rerouted (ie front end of the truck) that's when the ARB kit makes a little more sense since its a block that takes up to 4 lines.
But just for 1? Naaa. Overkill

    Balances out.
Buy the above mentioned and enjoy the first 3 years then deal with the problems that cost $$$ or spend it on Toyota and not worry in 3 years.

I'm fairly certain any of the above mentioned as old as your truck are a pile of shit now with engine and/or transmission issues if they haven't been babied or daily driven.

Besides when you compare the price of a Rubicon or Raptor to a trd off road there's a substantial price difference.
Can't take everything online either. Lots of these off-road channels don't always mention how much goes on behind the scenes.

And a lot of the others may have big tires from factory but I question how reliable they are off-road because majority of the time they're merely pavement pounders. There's very few that buy a Raptor, power wagon, Rubicon or even zr2 that actually ever even engage 4lo.
A lot of these auto makers have realized there's a huge market in mall crawlers these days. Can build it to sound bad ass on paper and not worry about off-road reliability because there's not many that are actually buying 75k+ vehicles to beat them off-road.

And the heavier the vehicle is the more prone to breaking shit it will be. That's probably the main reason Jeeps survive as well as they do. Look at my buddy Dan with the TJ that we went to Minden with before. His Jeep is around 3400lbs if even that. You and I are almost double the weight of him.
Even Taylor's Jeep is what 1500-2000lbs lighter than us? That weight makes a huge difference on driveline surviving.

Ronny Dahl even had a video recently showing off-road wise his new Hilux on 33s is showing to be even more capable than his big 79 on 35s because of the weight difference.

Yeah. lots of stuff goes on in the background and i'm fairly happy to see Ronny be as transparent as he is with the products he uses/ has. I wont get into the stink of the roof rack but we all need to understand to build for our environment.
his latest podcast, people asked should one get a roof rack or skids - he told get a roof rack but thats in Aussieland.

    Up here however;
    Skids first

    Mostly stock for now...

Absolutely agree about Mall Crawler Life™ and compromises that are made to do more knarly stuff off road. At what point do the modifications and compromises turn a good all round truck into a Trailer Queen because it uses less fuel to drag it to the trailhead and there is more peace of mind knowing that regardless of what you break while having fun you'll be able to get it home to your garage after the weekend is over?

I love my Taco and it will get more offroad upgrades - but when things get too crazy I'll consider flat towing a Suzuki behind the Tacoma... My 30+ years of offroad driving has mostly been with Samurai's small, lightweight and wonderfully underpowered - with 33" tires you would usually stall the engine before breaking anything in the driveline - once you go down the wormhole of gearing and bigger engines things change...

quick update on my roof rack; it looks like something may have hit the front or caused the powder coating to chip, got a small rust spot developing that will need to be fixed eventually.
