How does the Trailer Hitch work with an All Pro bumper

So over the weekend I ripped my electrical connector off my tailer hitch wheeling. I want to upgrade to an All Pro bumper and get a hidden hitch, but i don't know how that would work. Anyone have a wright up with info on how to raise everything up? I searched around and have seen plenty of pics of the bumper after install but nothing about how the receiver works or where to put the new electrical connector. Would i be trashing my old hitch setup? Do i need to buy a new hitch to match the bumper? Is there a way to flip it upside down to gain clearance and loose my bumper? I'm willing to chop my bed rear quarter panels too to add clearance so other brands interest me too. Please let me know what you got and i'll post pics of my jacked up plug tomorrow if needed. Any help would be great as i'm really interested in increasing my take off clearance...

 

On the website they offer the hitch that fits inside the bumper, its at the bottom of the page on the bumper page. I have a front bumper reaer bumper skids and rock guards waiting for me when i get home in march all from all pro and ill definitely take some pics of the wiring if you are waiting that long.

 

Yeah i saw that but is it rated at the same as the stock hitch? I'm also interested about where everyone is mounting their wiring. I destroyed the plastic POS mount i had stock on my old one but the stock hitch is looking great...

 

I am not familiar with how All Pro does it, but we build the reciever right into every bumper. Most manufacturers can't rate the hitch itself, but the way we tie everything together and use only the best materials you can easily see that ours is as strong if not stronger than a stock hitch. The 7 pin connector fits right next to the lic. plate for excellent protection, the hitch is tucked up high and behind where it normally would be.

I was at AllPro a couple months ago and Sara showed the bumper to me. Basically the receiver is behind the plate and part of the bumper. It uses none of the stock stuff (i.e. doesn't use stock receiver). The plate attached to a plug that went into the receiver hole. So from what I saw you lose the plate when in use. I like the look of the bumper, but this wouldn't work for me.

As for the wiring, TBH I don't recall, but I'm almost positive it came out in the center of the plate area (i.e. exposed when plate is removed).

I have the Allpro rear set up and it works well. Like said before the Lic plate is removed to access the receiver and the 7 wire plug faces straight down toward the ground to the left of the stock spare tire. The 7 wire plug is relocated when you install the new hitch and is self explanatory at the point of installation.

We offer the high clearance receiver hitch the tucks up nice and tight into all of our rear bumpers. The 7 pin plug is connected to the hitch facing the ground which gives the ultimate clearance for the plug (which we all know gets bashed on a rock sooner or later)

The hitch is equivalent to a class 3 factory rating! It is made of .250 wall certified receiver tubing and uses four 1/2 inch bolts as well as the factory 12mm bolts to hook to the frame. The receiver will easily tow up to the trucks capacity.

Put it this way, the hitch will still be there when you blow your ring and pinion

I'm confident with the hitch and use it pretty much daily during the season for my lawn set up and on the weekends I tow my boat. This thing is seriously stout. Just this weekend I got sucked down in some mud and got snatched several times on the rear bumper and of course it didn't budge. You can see my gallery to see how much I was bogged down and to get an idea of how much snatching was required. I don't want to clog this thread up with my pics.

 

Looks like a new bumper is the way to go! Thank goodness for jacking up my truck wheeling... Its the only way to get the old lady to ok more parts! HAHA

 

Can you post some pics of how the receiver/hitch tube connects to the bumper? I'm interested in the CBI bumper but not sure if I wanna get rid of the stock receiver. Wanna make sure it would be comparable towing wise.

 

If I had doubts I wouldn't have installed it. Like I said, I run my business from my truck so the hitch is extremely important.
