OVTune or KDMAX

I’m quoting someone else that made it sound like you were “out to get people” or making a list and checking it twice. I realize they don’t speak for you, but some times they act like they speak for you. That’s how this whole thread got off on a loosely related tangent.

 

I barely remember what I had for breakfast half the time. I don't have time for such stuff.

But when we get notification with evidence someone is breaking licensing rules, that's an entirely different and very serious story.

 

I don't think Mat is out to get anyone.

But I do think it's incredibly naive to think that a system that uses the internet to report back to a server, and when you have people publicly setting up meets to tune 30-50 trucks and if you didn't see a flood of 30-50 VINs hit your server, that that wouldn't be something you'd notice and would definitely be on your radar lol

*Not accusing anyone specific of this, but people talk

 

Why is that a problem? People bought the software and can use it and update it or not update it as they see fit. The software was originally sold as “unlock an ECU and tune as many trucks with that ECU as you want”. Just because the goal posts got moved on future software versions doesn’t mean people that didn’t update are cheating. People are using what they bought the way it was designed to be used. If people want the new features, they’ll have to use the new software and play by the new rules.

That's why I just make the general statement I did.
Because those people may be in a real sticky situation when suddenly their customers who already paid a premium has to pay even more to get an update and that person has to buy 500,5000, etc credits, and the price of credits are more.


Nobody said it's cheating. However the "goal post" was moved because people WERE cheating it.

 

The irony to me is some of the people complaining the most about people not licensing VIN’s and using the old software as it was designed to be used are the very same people that were reselling tune packs in the past.

 

You misunderstand me.

I really am a firm believer of being able to use what you paid for.

I just think it's odd how some people seem to think that everything goes unnoticed while they publicly brag about it.

 

You'll also notice that a lot of the people who complained about people reselling tune packs are now making a killing off of tunes that they purchased for cheap from someone else. They were just salty that they didn't get in on it sooner.

Just like the people who bitched about people offering flash services for a couple hundred dollars and would do it for free now no longer do so because they were losing money, or because they started charging the same amounts. There's someone making a well known user-edited tune who was in a similar boat if memory serves...

Things change.

Take the 10000 trucks tuned cash of say , 3 million in 2 years , and buy Doge coin before SNL airs tonight . Let the market work for you !

 

I have a ton of that junk dogecoin that was given to me for free as a joke in 2013. The dog bitcoin. Everyone was giving out thousands of coin free back then.

I don’t know enough about the pros and cons between the OVTune and KD Max. Though I do know my car can certainly use it.

Reading what I have here I’m more hesitant to consider the mass tune options out there.

I wish purveyors had a friendlier plug and play option like Cobb has with a lot performance vehicles including the Ford Raptor.

having to buy expensive software and a laptop sounds annoying.
