Alignment issues :/ Please help

I'm going to try some open country at3 tires on Friday and see what happens. I will let you know how it goes. Not sure why so many wildpeaks are pulling right but it's seems to be a common problem. Much more than I would of thought.

Thanks for the info. Never heard of conicity. This sounds like exactly what's happening!!! Testing new tires tomorrow

 

Try a little more positive caster on the passenger side. End up with 2.5-2.6 on the right and keep the other side the same. It may change the camber a little too but as long as it's within .5 degree to the other side it shouldn't matter ALTHOUGH if it goes more positive on the passenger side it will counteract the caster. Caster pulls to the more negative side and camber pulls to the more positive side with this effect starting to show when the cross camber or cross caster is more than .5 to .7 degrees. A whole degree difference left to right and you will definitely pull to the side with more positive camber and/or more negative caster.

 

**UPDATE** problem fixed!!!

Though frustrating the wait was worth it in the end!!! After the shop ordering the wrong sized tires and waiting another week to get new rubber, the new tires have fixed the problem!! No lean at all, truck is running like it should, straight!! Thank f@*K!!!

Glad to hear you got it solved. I too had issues with the wildpeaks pulling significantly to the right and when I switched tires, it was gone.

I wonder why it's always right (not just because of the road crown) Noone talked of a left pull, I'm glad I got it sorted but I want to know why. The "conitcity" suggestion seems like the most relevant to the issue, but why always right, lol. Just glad my truck drives straight now. On to better things!!!

 

The toyo tires fixed the problem?

 

Yep, Toyo open range tire has done the trick, I did reduce the tire size back to stock diameter(265/65R17) to eliminate that as a cause(problem tire was 265/70R17, slightly bigger) but I doubt that was the issue.

I did like the tread of the wildpeaks. Just couldnt live with lean/pull like that. I must of got a bad batch/tire

 

My oem Goodyear’s I had to take the psi up to 38 cold to drive correctly.

 

Don't know what that means But,
From my years of owning mucho different types of vehicles, and doing routine maintenance like a simple tire rotation, and having similar issues that you spoke of, I soon learned to at least look at the tires and not just balance. When you rotate your tires and stand them up or try to stand them up they should try and stand for a couple seconds straight up if they fall over right away look at that tire as a good suspect of having conicity issues. Is that a very technical procedure probably not but it has worked for me for the past 51 years I'm 67. Another thing to watch for is if the tire gumbah has tried to balance your tires with weight all over the rim that ain't how a dynamic balance plots a solution squawk it before you take the vehicle.
Sorry if you didn't like my help just thought you might want to look at the basics instead of all the other alignment suggestions.

 

I meant that some people as you started never write back/reply. It's kinda disrespectful after people have tried to help in my mind. So I really appreciated all the help people gave me. It pretty much backed up what I was thinking and gave me the motivation to not just say, oh well, and live the problem. Now I have a truck that drives straight. Thanks to you all!!

Thanks, now I can hopefully pass on the knowledge down the line. It was surprising that no one I physically talked with (many in the mechanic and tire industry)had ever heard or experienced this problem. Tacomaworld for the win!!!

 

I found it very interesting as well. I experimented and swapped the front two tires and that did improve the amount I’d pull slightly. But I would have though it would do more. I think there is a consistent fault in the design or production of the tire because I had mine over a year ago and I’ve continued to see threads like these on occasion. If you get a good batch I think it’s a great tire for the money.

 

Hey sorry to bother. I know you gave an update before...so psi 38 and all good still or just somewhat? I am wondering if your tire pressure changes due to temperature and what not if your truck will start to pull again. I am still trying to figure out same issue of my 2021 pro same tires (goodyear-wranglers). 3 alignments deep done by Toyota and still pulling to the right after driving twice since getting 3rd alignment. I tried increasing the psi to 38 cold but it did not fix the issue.

 

Still doing good at 38 cold it normally runs 40-41 at temperature. Another thing might be loose lug nuts or suspension components. I would go to a independent shop also.

 

Old "bad" tires were slightly bigger diameter/load range E (265/70R17) and the shop changed pressure slightly but that made no difference either cold or warm, and the pressure did change slightly. They had them set at 45 and they would range from 44 to 49.

Good tires(toyo, open range) are back to stock diameter (265/65R17) tire pressure set at 38 and have no issues with the pull. Pressure floats around 35 to 41 depending on temp but the tuck is driving straight.

Get toyota to try different tires. I'd say that is the problem. Did you see the post above about conicity? I can't say for sure that was the issues but is damn well sounds like it. Goodluck with it. I know how annoying that pull is.
