@Mrtacoman88 that is some serious work you put into the detail!! I like how the truck blends with the deflector!!!

Avs has two versions, the full length wrap around like you have and then one that stops at the hood edges. The tech that called me back said they use the same mold for the shorter one and sometimes they have issues if the operator doesn't center it in the mold correctly. If I had to do it again I'd get the full length like you've got to avoid mfg issues...

Thank you sir!!! I think it blends in pretty well! Most people think I’m crazy for spending that much time on my paint. I just love how the black color looks when properly taken care of. The good thing is, that coating is permanent, I just have to re apply the topshield every 6-8 months, which only takes about an hour.

    Interesting.

I had the same full length deflector on my ranger and had no issues as well.

Im very curious to see if it’s gonna help with the bugs this summer, we have a lot on some highways.

I installed one mostly to help deflect rocks. I have a 1992 Jeep Cherokee with a nearly vertical windshield, and it collects chips and scratches very easily. My Taco was 2 years old when I got it and already had some small scratches and a chip or two, and I was hoping to prolong the life of the windshield. Well it ended up cracking over winter anyway so now I have a new one, but hopefully having the deflector installed off the bat will make this new one last a while.

Yep, I’m hoping the same with my Tacoma. I’m tired of touching up rock chips on my hood and small rocks hitting my windshield.

Looks good! So from your experience it actually helps with bugs and small rocks?

Absolutely it does. I like the protection better than the looks. It works for me.

Yeah I prefer the look without it, not on the taco anyway. My ranger did look better with the deflector on though.

That’s good to hear that it’s working for you, I’ll know for sure if it’s working for me pretty soon.

Yes on the bug/stone deflector. I installed the Weathertech. Mounts on underside of hood. I’m not concerned with the aesthetics of it as long as it protects the hood.

The bug deflector is there, hard to see it. Black on black.

I prefer it and does seem to help with the bugs. Put it on when I bought the truck back on June 2015

It's like a dual edged sword. It helps with bugs, gravel, etc but make sure you don't get anything caught between the shield and the hood. I guess you don't have that problem with the aeroskin though. I'm neutral on the look, it really doesn't piss me off.
