Shit. The Morimotos headlights have different rear dimensions and are not compatible with my rack mount design. Will need to improvise.

 

honestly. i dont have much desire for LED headlights. i had a rental car with LED. I couldnt see shit in the rain with that whiter light

Need to redo the Morimoto distance test. Forgot to laser measure the distance for accuracy. Facepalm. Hope to repeat it tomorrow.

 

Wow!!! Wish they made stuff for the older 2nd gens...

 

You might want to wait until crash tests them. The output looks awful blue - which really cuts down on output. And if they dump most of their available light right in front of the truck like some other brands (to give the impression of great lighting), all they'll be is pretty.

 

Full review on the Morimotos pending soon. I'm a bit of an OCD perfectionist, so I've got to get everything just right before posting data, which in this case means annoyingly re-testing some things for the most accurate information. Not surprising spoiler alert: they are not remotely comparable to this halogen upgrade.

 

You mean they're not 500% brighter? I'm so totally, utterly, completely shocked. I may even have to seek counselling. Folks will still buy them in droves because they look cool. Words fail me.

This reminds me of all the BS that happened with mobile audio equipment output a few years back. There needs to be some standards set.

 

Does MTX still ship their results with amps? I remember them always being higher than what was posted.
