My house was built on swamp land. The land was raise then the house was built. But, the idiots didn't know how to pitch the land to make the rain water run away from the house. Everytime it rains the yard is like a sponge, soft and swooshy.

Before the house was built the cows fertilize the yard. Nice rich soil.

I just put down pelletized lime every three years and call it good.

 

When the house was built we had no other choice to raise the land. Today it was a good decision that it was done.

From what I was told is when you put lime down it's not going do anything until the following year. Something about needing the rain throughout the year to be beneficial for the grass. I don't know it's true.
