I'm a new Tacoma owner (I have a 2020). I'm looking at a used one as a second car, its a 2009 with a 2.7 and is a stick with 137000 miles. Are there any known issues with this year ? miles also seem kind of high for a 4 cy..looking for opinions.

    Thanks

The 2009 Taco is a solid truck. I haven’t heard of any problems inherent with that year Taco. I really don’t know much about that 4 cylinder though. All my Tacos have been 6’s. For a 12 year old truck that mileage isn’t bad at all.

    LCE headers, Intake spacer,
Get the frame checked at a dealership! It may still be under the WEP. If the frame is shot and it's past the warranty period, PASS!

It depends on where the truck has been for most of its life. If it hasn’t been in the rust belt then you have no worries. I have a 2009 that’s been in California it’s whole life. There are no, none, zero rust.
I just remembered there was a recall for the rear leaf springs for 2009 and a few other years. If that hasn’t been done Toyota will replace the rear leafs (at no charges) with new up graded leafs.
